đ¨ Avoid This Yacht Broker â Overbooked, Dishonest, & Unprofessional đ¨ I booked two yachts for my birthdayâa 90-ft from Miami Beach Marina and a 105-ft from Miami Riverâexpecting a seamless, premium experience. Instead, I got delays, mismanagement, a broker who failed to deliver what was promised, and zero accountability.
Worse, when I voiced my concerns, they hinted at legal action to discourage me from leaving an honest review. If they do this to others, it raises the question: How many other bad experiences have been silenced? Is their rating even trustworthy?
They Promised a Full Package â And Delivered Nothing They advertised a full-service experience with catering, DJs, and decorations, but what they actually provided was completely underwhelming. The caterers and DJs they recommended were subpar, and the decorator only did balloonsâwhich looked like something from a baby shower. We ended up handling everything ourselvesâhiring our own DJ and caterer, negotiating a discount, and even being promised early access to set up. That early access was later revoked at the last minute. Overbooked & Poorly Planned My original booking was from 2 PM - 8 PM, but the broker pushed it to 3 PM - 9 PM so they could squeeze in another booking before mineâthrowing off the entire schedule. They promised the 105-ft yacht would be ready at 3 PMâit didnât even dock until 3:30 PM and only left at 3:50 PM. By 4:40 PM, the yacht was stuck at the Brickell Bridge for nearly 2 hoursâsomething any competent broker should have accounted for since the bridge closes from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM daily. Poor Communication & Zero Accountability When I pushed back on the late start time, I was dismissed and told I âdidnât know what I was talking about.â When the delays happened, the broker refused to take responsibility. Instead, I got dismissive responses and even profanity from their team. Instead of fixing the situation, they tried to shift blameâfirst to the bridge, then to a chef who supposedly didnât disembark in time. Hidden Fees & Shady Tipping Practices Despite prepaying gratuity, the crew on the 105-ft yacht was expecting tips and looked confused when we told them it was already included. The 90-ft yacht staff admitted that the broker takes a significant cut from bookings, which explains why booking directly with yacht owners is a much better option. Limited Time Together â The Experience Was Not What We Paid For The entire point of booking two yachts was to have 4 hours together at sea. Instead, we got only 1.5 hours before it was time to turn back. They claim they âgave an extra hourââbut the 105 foot was back at the dock at 9.40 am. So that "extra hour" didn't even make up for lost time. Threats & Gaslighting Instead of Professionalism Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they tried to silence meâgoing as far as to threaten legal action for simply stating the facts.
Theyâve also tried to rewrite history by posting a highlight reel on Instagram to make it look like everything was perfect. Of course, we made the most of the 1.5 hours we actually had togetherâwhat else were we supposed to do? Sit around and be miserable?
The issue isnât whether there were good momentsâthe issue is that the experience was completely mismanaged, and their response has been dismissive and dishonest.
The Final Straw â Their âI Donât Careâ Attitude After dodging my concerns, Panos, the broker, ended the conversation by literally saying, âI donât care.â That tells you everything you need to know about their level of professionalism.
Bottom Line: Book Directly with Yacht Owners & Avoid This Broker If youâre looking for a seamless, professional experience, do yourself a favor and book directly with yacht companies. This broker adds no value, causes unnecessary complications, and takes a cut without improving the service.
đ¨ They overbook. They misrepresent services. They gaslight. They threaten customers who leave honest reviews. đ¨
I would strongly advise against booking through them if you want a...
Read moreWe booked two yachts for a friendâs 40th birthday celebration in Miami on Friday, March 7th, expecting a seamless experience. Our group flew in from different parts of the world, and the plan was to meet in the open sea and enjoy the day together. Unfortunately, due to poor planning on the yacht operatorâs side, one of the yachts arrived late, cutting into our time together as a full group.
This was incredibly frustrating, as we had coordinated everything well in advance and were looking forward to a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The delay disrupted our plans and took away from the celebration. For the price we paid, we expected a professional and well-organised service, but instead, we were left disappointed.
If youâre booking for a large group or a special occasion, Iâd recommend looking elsewhere to avoid similar...
