I strongly recommend to not go to this hotel. They say hotel is 4 star but the rooms are of less than of a 3-star hotel. None of the staff I encountered are friendly or can speak fluent english except for 1. Supervisor Maria, I hate her attitude. Also parking is available on site but you cannot self park you MUST take valet parking. We booked for a king oceanfront, but we arrived late around 10pm since our flight got delayed and they gave us a room with oceanfront, great! But bathroom was a so small with a sink of size of your hand with no vanity around. All toiletries are placed outside bathroom, on a small table. Trust me, forget about a quick face wash, u can't even brush ir teeth in that sink without hitting your head. On top of it, AC vents are leaking water on both sides of roof rim. We asked at front desk and that was the only front desk person who understood, spoke nice and in English, let me know that I was mistaken that we were allocated an ambassador suite which was not generally given to any guests. However they are full and no other oceanfront are available and asked us to check back in the morning. He will also leave a note for manager to provide a discount for inconvenience caused. We called next day morning and it was the most worst experience from here until end of our stay. I called front desk and they say that they will check availability and get back but never called back. I waited 30mins and called, they say room service is cleaning so they will call back once they are done. I asked how long and said she will check and callback but never called. I lost my patience but tried to polite for their rude behavior and called, this time a gentleman picked up. I said that it is my birthday today and we have reservations that we need to go to, so please tell me how long. He said that I can leave my luggage in current room and their service can shift once new room is ready. I agreed to that and went down to drop keys. Oh ya, I had to repeat my story for thr forth time and she wouldn't even listen to what I was trying to say and just text on her phone and after that the lady at front desk says that I cannot leave and I must be there to shift my luggage. I repeated that I spoke with gentleman on phone and he provided this arrangement. I also tried to show her pictures on my phone but she doesn't even care to listen. Finally I left the keys and went out. We returned after our day trip and explained the story and asked for new keys, she says that she don't see any notes and it starts again ! She starts texting and then finally I got key after some wait. So I went into new room, my luggage was their and an oceanfront room, great! This room have 2 bathrooms. One exactly same as old one right next to door and second one at center of the room. But they gave us an ADA room. Huh! Obviously the second shower do not have nieche or side holder for your toiletries. And the center AC vent is leaking water, which is right infront of the second bathroom. We were so tired and decided to just manage for rest of the 2 nights since it felt like rather than enjoying our trip, I am into constant arguments which is not how we wanted to spend my birthday. On checkout day, I went to front desk and asked for a 30min late checkout since we were getting delayed, anyhow we checked in very late. The guy adjusted my checkout and gave me until 11.30 (no addional price mentioned), great ! Now I asked if there is any adjustments put on my room price and he called his supervisor, Maria. She says she remember me, ok great! She says my first day room rent is waived off, oh great and asked if I get credit on my card. She says no and asked what time am I checking out. I said 11.30 and she says that is the complimentary we provided and I waived iff 1 night resort fee of $57, she gives me remaining bill. I tried to speak but she yells at me louder that late checkout is $300 and that is given to me complimentary. I felt awkward to be yelled at infront of all other customers their.I didnt even say about leak in...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel Miami Beach over the weekend of 9/1-9/3 for our private wedding and photos. We have stayed at the hotel four times previously over our 10 years together. However, this will be our last stay due to the condition of the hotel, lack of working amenities, lack of care and professionalism in the staff, and conning and defrauding guests out of money. On 9/1 my husband and I arrived at the hotel and informed the valet that our car windows could not be rolled down due to Hurricane Ian affecting the electrical system. I also told the valet not to touch the windows twice. We checked in with the mgr Yuri, who initially asked for $638 I explained that due to the recent Hurricane Idalia that I could only do just one night. Our wedding night due to low funds. Yuri wanted to help and later agreed to $400 plus $315 already pd for both nights. For all taxes fees and parking. I showed Yuri my bank account balance of $450 and agreed to pay the $400. I also informed Yuri that a photographer was coming at 6 pm to send upstairs. However he was waiting in lobby for 40 min and we lost 30 minutes of our paid session time. The hotel had changed and was not as posh, upbeat, and romantic as it was during our previous 4 stays. Our suite had a hard and uncomfortable futon couch, sandy floors, peeling paint on the patio, and no washcloths, hand towels, or floor mats in the two full bathrooms. When we went outside to take photos, the patio furniture was old, faded, and torn. It was quiet except for the kids screaming in the pool. The tree-tied lights over cabanas and hammocks were off. When the valet brought our car around, the driver's side window was rolled down, which I had told the valet not to touch. now completely off track and dropped clear down inside the door frame I went to the front desk in tears and panic about the incident and spoke to Yuri, who said keep us posted. Some wedding night 9/2 We went to the pool, but one of the hot tubs was packed with an entire family, and the other one's water was cold, and the jets didn't work. We then went to the beach, but the small coned-off section was packed with pale pink and battered chairs packed together with strangers right up next to them. We also saw the attendant throw towels and belongings on the sand and take the chairs. We were afraid to leave the chairs to enjoy the water, walk the beach or go to restroom as there is a sign posted if left unattended 20min you lose your chairs. We decided to try out the upstairs area and went up to the 7th-floor Tranquility pool and bar, but there was no one there, and the faded, torn, pale pink cabanas were unsatisfactory. No towels or bar open and One of the jacuzzis was dirty and had medical gloves lying at the bottom, and neither were heated, and there was no way to turn on the jets. We went downstairs and found out that the window was up. When we returned to the hotel, Mgr Yuri who said they magically got the window to roll up after 1 year not working. At About 2 am on September 3, we decided to pack up our things and just go home 4 hrs across the state. Theres nothing to do and we were hungry. We tried to call front desk to get a cart but neither in room phones worked. When we got to the front desk they stated we owed another $538 on the room, which I disputed. The lady on duty said that it didnt matter what agreement Yuri and I agreed to on check in and I was in shock. While waiting for our car which took over 30 min at 350am and checked our account. We found out that our bank account was now negative because the hotel had forced the charge to go through. When we got our car at valet, there was tape over the door where the window and lock switches are, and we assumed it was to keep them from touching the windows. On our drive home we saw a screw on the door, and cap was missing from the door panel under the door knob on the inside of the door. They took Apart the door. We found the cover plate hidden under things in the pocket in the driver door. No response...
Read moreTERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! FRAUDULENT AND UNSAVORY BUSINESS PRACTICES.
I am appalled by how terrible both the hotel service and customer service were here. Awful because the hotel looks so nice in pictures. They charged me $500 for damages to the TV which was not my fault - I reported there were issues to the TV to the lobby and they did not send anyone up to check it out. This was unfortunately just ONE of many issues with the hotel.
I specifically picked this hotel because I was recovering from a surgery and needed a nice place to stay - unfortunately I ended up having to check out early because the stay was just not suitable for my recovery. On top of the TV being damaged (which was extremely annoying in itself as anyone who has had surgery knows all you can really do is bedrest and watch TV), the AC was not working which is a nightmare in Miami (which they did FINALLY send someone up to fix the night before I ended up checking out early, the elevators were broken on the DAY OF MY SURGERY (which is stressful as you cannot walk up stairs), they never changed my bedsheets despite my requests (literally just sent up and left an extra comforter), I had to ask for extra pillows SEVERAL times before they finally sent someone up (needed them to lay upright after surgery). All of this was extremely frustrating as I had to spend the majority of my time on bedrest.
I literally had to check out early and find alternative accommodations which was stressful in itself to relocate during my recovery. I called to try to resolve this amicably as any good business practice would have done, and they straight up LIED to me and said there is nothing that can be done about it and that the room was in good condition before my stay which is a failure on their housekeeping who inspected the room before me on top of a failure on their hotel lobby to send someone up on top of a failure on maintenance. I do not trust their housekeeping actually did a thorough inspection before my visit considering how unhelpful/rushed they were and couldnt even change my sheets even upon request multiple times. Awful. Do not stay here. How is it possible that their housekeeping that came EVERY day and the maintenance they sent up to fix the AC did not notice the damages but they claim it was not damaged before my arrival and was damaged after I left. I specifically picked this nice hotel that was 45 minutes away from the physician and endured long uber ride post-op instead of a hotel closeby because it looked like a luxury hotel and I expected the service to be as such. The hotel looks nice in pictures but I've had better customer service at a motel.
Also very suspicious that they STILL haven't refunded me the $491 for the days that I ended up checking out early all of which is extremely suspect ($491 vs. $500) and claim it can take "up to 12 weeks" ...
Do not stay here. I had a better stay at Best Western for crying out loud. You would think that a "luxury" hotel would have better business practices & be more compassionate to someone who is quite literally recovering from surgery - I offered to provide proof of documentation of my surgery and asked for proof that the TV was in good condition before my stay and they cannot provide me photo evidence of that of course. Just completely unsavory business practice to put my word against theirs - any good business would have resolved this issue and not forced me to escalate matters, which I absolutely will be pursuing. If I had known this is how they treat their guests I would have documented every single issue I had and requested a full refund for my entire stay but i bet that would also take "12 weeks" / "nothing could be done about it". Awful.
see the screenshot of the tv from a vid on the day I arrived top left you can see it already had a minor...
