Well, went in there few months back because I had heard of a good BYO phone deal. So I signed up with them (Verizon) and was told I'd get a $300 card for the BYO offer in a few weeks as long as we have service for a set amt of time. They also sold me on a Verizon Visa. I was told I'd get $10 off my monthly bill if I did and paid my bill with it, so sure I signed up. I told them my wife was a teacher and that qualified me for a $70/month unlimited plan so I signed up for that. 'It takes a couple billing cycles for that to go through' I was told. Ok. So, about a month later I go back in a was interested in seeing what they had for new phones. They've got a deal going for a Samsung S20+, like $800 off or something...it's a ridiculous priced phone honestly...$1100? Sure.....anyway, I asked the guy would this affect my $300 card I was supposed to get for the BYO phone deal. He checked and called someone who supposedly knew.....nope! Won't affect it. Alrighty then! So I bought the phone. I asked the guy when could I pay it off. 'Give it a couple months, they want to know you're with them awhile.' Ok.
So.....I go in a month or so later wondering why my teacher discount isn't showing yet. 'You have to sign up on their discount site.' I did that already. 'It's not showing.' SO I had to sign up again for that. And BTW, where is my BYO card? When is it supposed to come? 'Lemme check'. Checks his system. 'You can't get the card. You didn't have the BYO on their system long enough.' Huh?!? I checked with you before doing it! 'Sorry, you can't get the card'. Lie No.1 Also, I've noticed when paying with the Visa I'm not getting $10 off, it's $6 and there's a limit of $120 max. No one mentioned that to me and I'm not getting the ten I was told. Lie No.2 And when can I pay off my phone? I was told it would be a few weeks of having it before I can. 'You can pay it off but you'll pay the full price of the phone.' What?!? No one ever mentioned to me that I can't pay off the discount price! (It's a 24 month payoff discount deal.) So I have to wait the entire 24 months to pay this off or I'll get hit the entire full price of the phone?!? No one EVER mentioned that to me!! 'We tell everyone that.' Lie no.3 No, they never told me that or I would have NEVER EVER done the deal.
So...to break this very deceptive deal down.....I never got the $300 promised by card for the BYO even though I was told yeah I could. I'm not getting the Teacher discount. The Visa card discount was a lie. And now I'm stuck in a 24 month 'contract' due to not being able to pay off the phone early or I'll get slammed with the full cost of the phone-all very much unexplained by them.
Moral of this story....avoid this place at all cost. They won't tell you the truth and you can expect a bunch of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen having network issues with both phones on the account these past few days. Talked to countless people through Verizon tech support over that time span, kept coming back to not being able to resolve the issue. Was told by Verizon to go to the store and exchange both phones since I was in the allotted 30 day return. Phones were purchased July 8th and today is August 7th. 31 days... Derrick and Cody both were awesome during the first visit when I purchased the phones. Today Derrick told me exchanging the phones wasn't going to rectify the problem and I agreed and that it was a verizon tower issue. Went to exchange one of the phones on the account anyway because we didn't really like the phone and that I wouldn't mind paying the difference on the account for the new phone. Derrick returned a few minutes later informing me that he had spoke to his manager and they weren't going to do the exchange because we were 14hrs past the exchange period..... so here we are a week and a half into not having data to be able to use the full functionality of our brand new phones (no internet/ multimedia messaging) at home, and I still haven't got a answer on when it's going to be fixed/nothing. Got aggravated and left the store. So beware if you decide to go with Verizon you'll spend hrs on the phone with someone you can barely understand repeating yourself over and over when they transfer you to new people over and over and when you go to the local store to get resolve, you get bent over there as well. Had straight talk for 10 years at a third of the price and never had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is SOLELY against Verizon and not against the store themselves. I made a partial payment ahead of my bill date for 1/2 my bill and to have the other 1/2 billed on the due date so as to not overdraft my account. Verizon the day of the second 1/2 of the payment arrangement reversed the 1/2 of the payment and charged me a reversal fee and sent the partial payment back to my bank (of which takes 3-7 business days to happen) so I had to make a payment arrangement of paying 1/2 my bill the following day as I forgot about a federal holiday on payday and the remaining amount to be paid within 2 weeks. The following day instead of processing the partial agreed upon payment Verizon processed the whole payment overdraft if my account costing me a daily overdraft fee and refused to reverse payment or to take accountability for their mistake costing me over $100 in fees and refusing to arbitrate the situation (which is in the contract Verizon had me sign if situations like this arise) so basically Verizon committed Fraud by billing my account a full payment after agreeing to pay 1/2 at that point in time and refuse to take responsibility for their mistake which if committed by an individual and not a multimillion dollar business would be a...
