As of recent, a fairly new employee at the Starbucks Michigan City, IN location treated me very passively and poorly. I was able to refresh my memory right away after she had managed tactics to make me very uncomfortable.
3 weeks ago, I had gotten my usual chai latte with a venti water. As you know, waters are quick and free. I forgot at the speaker box and asked for one at the window politely. This lady said VERY sarcastically with her head nodding, “Did you know you’re supposed to say that when you order…. if you DIDN’T know!? Yeah? Right?”
As of today, I wanted to give it a shot again despite how rude she was 3 weeks ago.
I had given my same order to the same lady. She then quickly recognized me with no one behind me in line or in sight and asked, “What was your order again?” ..like she didn’t know and then said, “OH, the WATER.. right!” She QUICKLY gave me my latte and took 2 minutes preparing my water with a long conversation about how she wants to clock out.
I am not happy with being manipulated because of someone’s ego about a simple water. Maybe she thinks getting the free water is a bad free-bee or likes to overpower people from being inflicted by making them feel small purchasing their favorite drink and coming back with no choice.
Well, I won’t deal with that behavior and I will not be going back to the location soon unfortunately. The La Porte and Chesterton location will have my business in the meantime.

Read moreI came inside to order due to the long line at the drive-thru and there is no line inside. I feel that since I come in to order, get out of my car and especially since there is no line inside, there should be precedence over the inside orders or at least separate employees making items for the inside orders. I kept seeing the workers make drive thru orders before mine and I feel that is a horrible system. There needs to be some sort of separation since as customers we are coming inside to order. For the most part, the employees are always professional; however, why have the inside even open if you are not going to take into consideration that people come inside since they do not want to wait in the drive-thru line so there needs to be separate employees making inside customer orders vs. drive thru orders especially when there are 5 employees working. Very unprofessional and unacceptable. Ian was extremely nice; however, the only woman making drinks told me there were nine drinks ahead of me! Absolutely ridiculous and so unprofessional especially when there were only 4 cars in the drive through. I should definitely have learned my lesson from the last time but wow!!! Read moreI am giving three stars because the afternoon and evening crew have always been great. Today was my first time getting something with the morning crew. They made a tall creme frap for my daughter that had a quarter of it filled with Straight caramel syrup. Then when we asked for less syrup, the woman does it with no questions but then another employee comes over and asks what is wrong with it. When she tells her what is wrong, that other woman proceeds to huff and say “Oh come on”. I’m sorry...but my daughter does not need 1/4 cup of caramel syrup. And then when she gives it back to us it had no caramel drizzle at all. Which is what we asked for. And when my husband looked at it confused, she says “is there a problem sir” with a bit of a snarky attitude. I never write reviews but this was so frustrating to me.
