I am utterly appalled by the abysmal quality and lackluster customer service provided by Bassett Furniture in Middletown. After investing in our fourth couch from this brand, we expected nothing short of excellence, but what we received was a massive disappointment.
The first sign of trouble emerged when we noticed the cushions on the couch were mismatched in size, leaving enormous gaps between them. These gaps were so wide that, to our disbelief, my foot actually fell between the cushions! It is beyond comprehension how a supposedly reputable furniture brand could produce such shoddy craftsmanship.
Naturally, we reached out to Bassett Furniture in the hopes of resolving this issue. However, their response was both dismissive and disheartening. Despite our legitimate concerns and the clear defect in the couch, they callously denied any responsibility, claiming that the couch was not defective. This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction is unacceptable, especially considering our longstanding loyalty to the brand.
What adds salt to the wound is the exorbitant price we paid for this couch. We expected a premium product, but instead, we are left with an expensive eyesore that looks as if it was purchased at a discount due to its glaring defects. The complete lack of accountability on the part of Bassett Furniture is not only infuriating but also an insult to our trust in their brand.
It is disheartening to witness the deterioration in quality and customer service from a brand we once held in high regard. Bassett Furniture in Middletown has clearly lost sight of what it means to provide exceptional products and stand by their customers.
Save yourself the frustration, disappointment, and financial burden of investing in a subpar product from a company that appears to have lost touch with its commitment to quality. There are plenty of other furniture brands that value their customers and provide superior products and service.

Read moreMy wife and I bought our first couch for our new house from Bassett in Middletown. Hearing about how great Bassett furniture was we were very excited when it was delivered and setup. Unfortunately that’s when things began to go downhill. Within only a few months of normal use our new couch with “performance fabric” began pilling uncontrollably for no reason.
We contacted the store who sent out a representative to assess and his solution was to leave us with our own pilling tool so we can use it on our brand new couch as the problem will persist. The store and corporate offered no other solutions. In fact corporate indicated that because this Bassett store is not actually a corporate store that they can do nothing for us.
It is 2 years later and my wife or I have continuously inquired about Bassett providing an acceptable solution to this issue. They have ignored all requests.
I suggest anyone considering purchasing a couch or any other furniture from Bassett and/or the Middletown store that they consider looking elsewhere first. I have attached a picture to this post to show the extent of the issue.
*UPDATE. After Bassett response to this post I emailed their customer care as requested. I did not receive any response at all. I also emailed corporate who only asked at which store the purchase was made. No follow up and no response from them...
Read moreI am a repeat customer of this Bassett store but am very disappointed in the care and lack of concern from the manager following up with me. Shortly after delivery of my couch I made a phone call to the store and was advised that I would hear back but no return call. I was persistent in leaving messages. Finally the store manager was able to take my call but the outcome was not at all satisfactory. Sam advised that he would take back the couch along with a restocking fee of 50% of what I paid for it! This couch is brand new! It can easily be resold. What a huge disappointment after I offered to purchase a replacement that costs much more. He didn't even try to accommodate.
