This five star review Is to recognize Erika who assisted us with checkout on Sat. 6/14 at the courtesy desk section of the store. She gave us and our four-year-old ann excellent experience and took the time to make personal connections. I also commend the woman working with her who I noticed deliver an exceptional experience to two elderly guests (one of was in a wheelchair). The whole time, They simultaneously managed a constantly ringing phone as a team and store all-call. Now for the store - This is the type of place to go when you are looking for something that you want, but don’t need within a time constraint. Great deals can be found, but you need to know how to shop the store. For example, you’re better off Checking out sales and clearance a few times rather than buying an Ashley Cooper bedding set that will only give you nightmares and not sweet dreams. Always check out their bargain section as well. For example, the outdoor Edison-style lights we put in our cart were 30% off $20 (cost = $14). The same item was in the bargain center for $13 along with Solar-powered outdoor light strands for only $3 that the seasonal section did not have. Always check online (website/ weekly circular) to see what coupons they are running. Overall, this place is a hidden gem with a lot of offerings with better than Walmart quality, but lower than Target prices. The only uncomfortable part Is the antiquated department-style checkout. I don’t want to have to do multiple transactions Or a return if I find something in the bargain center I want instead. Read moreI called the night before and put a hoodie on hold to pick up in the morning. Got there, no hoodie was held for me. However, an extremely helpful gentleman named Michael looked in the storeroom for me. My real issue was with this female cashier who for whatever reason, chose to further detract from my already disappointing shopping experience. I watched her give energetically courteous service to customers in line in front of me and then after me. Which told me that her indifference to me was on purpose. I approached the counter, greeted her and was ignored while she took a break from her side work to clean her glasses, scratch her face, adjust her mask. I wasn't sure she saw or heard me and after a while I was about to reinterate my greeting but she finally approach the counter, never acknowledging my greeting or existence or looking in my direction. She picked up my order from the counter, scanned the tag and said the cost and that was it. No please or thank you as I had just watched her give energetically to the customers before me then after me. I left Boscov's bothered by her obvious slight of courtesy toward me. So bothered that I returned later to say something to her about it only she wasn't there. I made another purchase and Michael waited on me with the professionalism and courtesy that I was denied earlier. I was so bothered earlier that I took her picture before I left. The picture of the two bags are to support the story of my return. I didn't like what happened at all and although Michael's service was excellent, her's left me annoyed...
Read moreUpdating my 2023 review as I am totally disappointed with Boscov’s failure to stand behind their products. Both recliners required some attention (repairs) within the first year. My wife’s recliner turned out to be completely uncomfortable ( back pain) and the padding began to fail. We were 14 months out from purchase and the manufacturer told us to contact Boscov’s. Customer service told us that since a year had passed we were out of luck. Even the salesman encountered the same answer from his store. I would have gladly taken a store credit and bought another similarly priced chair from Boscov’s, but nothing was offered. Will shop elsewhere to find a comfortable recliner for my wife. We’re done with Boscov’s! My next and final visit to this store will be to turn in my Boscov’s credit card.
Visited here yesterday with my wife as we were looking to buy new recliners for each of us. They had quite the selection of all types, including big name brands, electric operated ones, and lift chairs. Our salesman, Frank Romano, was extremely helpful in directing us to all the ones in stock as well as what we could special order if we wanted.
We wound up selecting two recliners and expect delivery this coming Saturday. ...
