The Kohls in Middletown NJ has the absolute worst and incompetent cashiers. Customer service is terrible there. There’s always an issue with transactions and the cashiers voiding and recharging. Always a consistent mess and horrible experience there. Unfortunately today’s problem was a cashier rang my autistic daughter up, the charge went through but the cashier said it didn’t then voided it, and proceeded to run it three more times. Now I have to wait 24-48 hours for the funds to show back in my daughter’s account, which then caused her to not have enough money to get lunch while on the trip since the Kohls cashier charged her 3-4 times.
UPDATE 9/29 *it's now been over 72 hours and still have not received the funds back from the supposed voided transaction the cashier did!!! This is infuriating that my autistic daughter was scammed. I have create a dispute with the card company and I will be coming into Kohl's to speak with a manager, again. This is ridiculous
UPDATE As of today, 10/1, It’s been 120 hours, 5 days, and no refund. It’s clear that the cashier did not do a void and charged me twice. This is absurd for me to have to chase Kohls around for my autistic daughter to be refunded because of an incompetent cashier
UPDATE 10/9 Kohl's in Middletown has scammed Delia. DO NOT SHOP AT KOHLS
Delia goes in community trips with school. She works on budgeting her money and learning to shop and make purchases. Incredible life skills.
9/26 she goes to Kohls and the cashier charges her $40 for jeans, she uses her Venmo card. The cashier claims she took out her card too soon, but Delia was with a teacher who helped Delia do the transaction, and she said no it went through. Cashier fights her and says nope it didn’t and I’ll have to do a void and do a recharge. As this is happening, I get notification Dee made a $40 purchase, which I expected, then I get two more immediate notifications that her card was ran TWO more times for $40 but transaction was denied because not enough funds, which her card didn’t have because she budgeted for her jeans and then to go have pizza for lunch. The teacher calls me from cash register and explain what happened. She said the cashier and manager are here and that the $40 will be back in Delia’s account in 24 HOURS, but I would need to send Delia more money to cover the costs of her jeans, which they said they’d give her a discount and the price would now be $34. I’m annoyed but had to send Dee more money to buy her jeans because she was so upset and frustrated with the chaos, plus she still needed to get lunch. 24 hours passes, 48 hours, 72 hours and so on, still NO REFUND of the $40. I figured it’s Venmo so maybe takes a little while longer. Well Tuesday 10/7 at 12:15pm, I’m home bc I had the day off, I get notification from Venmo that a purchase for $34.66 was made IN STORE at the Kohls in Middletown using Delia’s card. I was home so I ran to her room and there’s her purse with her card!!!!! So clearly FRAUD happening at Kohls. I’m assuming the cashier was scamming her, and there was either a card skimmer on the credit card machine or the cashier wrote down the card numbers.
I rush over to kohls to speak to a manager, Zach, I was furiousssssss explaining this. Delia is now scammed out of $74.66 I wasn’t given any reason how this could have happened but Zach said he’d have to contact corporate accounting.
Now today, Thursday 10/9, I just received an email with no explanation or help, saying I should dispute with Venmo, which sucks to begin with because I disputed the first double transaction with Venmo and they denied bc the two transactions were for different amounts since they gave her the 15% discount. Venmo does not easily help with disputes and the customer service is incredibly challenging to actually get a hold of.
So this is where I am right now with Delia being scammed by Kohls...
Read moreI used to like this Kohl's as much as I love the one up the road in Holmdel, but I definitely can't say I do anymore. I keep telling myself to go give it another chance, but I just can't seem to walk in there (and I'm in this plaza every other week). The store itself, the appearance, the sales, and the employees are all positive, for the most part, but there's this one manager (I guess he's a manager), that really disappoints me. We've all had it rough during the pandemic, so I just don't feel there's an excuse for his behavior. Once, I witnessed as a customer verbally abused the customer service ladies in the back (trust me, it was BAD). This person should've been kicked out of the store. You don't treat other humans that way. But instead of defending his employees, this "manager" treated this man like a king. We all stood there disgusted by both their behaviors. Another time, I witnessed this same "manager" (he doesn't dress like one) mock a customer he was "helping" at the customer service counter. The Amazon box the customer was returning was still intact, so he kept saying something about it. As to say, why do we just order any old thing off of Amazon just to return it. The customer explained he had ordered this for his son's virtual school work, but then the teacher changed their mind. Again, we're just trying to survive the pandemic. And why'd he have to explain himself? Anyway, I resorted to just using the drive-in feature here, but even then, I kept getting this woman bring me my things that was always grumpy. I guess I'll just keep going to Holmdel, which is a...
Read moreI love Kohl's because they always have the greatest sales on everything; clothes, purses, perfume, jewelry, shoes, & toys etc. I really like their shopping carts too, they are unlike any other shopping cart, & if you have kids, their shopping carts are much better & more comfortable for your little one. & The best thing is, they don't ONLY have shopping carts, you can use a bag, or basket, & the baskets they have, have wheels & handles you can pull up & push or pull the basket around. One of the only things that I do not like about the store is the sizing of their clothes is never right is the sizing of their clothes is the never write I am usually a size medium yet when I went shopping there yesterday I had to get all different sizes in every item of clothing I bought. I also do not like how nothing is organized and everything is in the wrong spots you have to really spend some time there and search for what you're looking for because nothing is where it's supposed to be so even when you do find what you're looking for you don't know what the actual...
