Title: Disappointed with Leo's at the Slice's Lack of Communication and Support for Local Artists
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5 stars)
I am writing this review to express my disappointment with Leo's at the Slice. As a local artist, I was excited to hear that they showcase artists and provide a platform for emerging talents. However, my experience with this establishment has been far from satisfactory.
One of the major issues I encountered was their poor communication. As an artist trying to reach out and potentially showcase my work, I sent multiple messages to Leo's at the Slice, hoping to discuss potential opportunities. Unfortunately, they never bothered to respond or acknowledge my inquiries. It is disheartening to see a business claim to support artists but fail to engage with them.
Furthermore, Leo's at the Slice seems to prioritize promoting others while neglecting the local artists who are genuinely trying to build their portfolios. It is frustrating to witness this favoritism towards certain individuals or groups, as it creates an unfair and biased environment for artists seeking exposure.
Recently, my friend Keary was planning to bring me a ticket for an event happening on December 8, 2023. However, due to the lack of support and communication I have experienced from Leo's at the Slice, I have lost interest in attending. It is disheartening to see a venue that claims to support new artists disregard the very individuals they should be championing.
I hope that Leo's at the Slice takes this review as constructive criticism and works towards improving their communication and support for local artists. It is essential for establishments like these to create an inclusive and nurturing environment for emerging talents, rather than just showcasing a select few.
Also Lack of Gender Diversity and Inclusivity at Leo's at the Slice
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5 stars)
I am writing this additional review to address another concerning aspect of Leo's at the Slice - their lack of gender diversity and inclusivity. As a woman artist, it is disheartening to see a venue that predominantly promotes male performers while neglecting the talents of women in the local art scene.
While I understand that Leo's at the Slice may have its own selection criteria, it is important for any establishment claiming to support artists to showcase a diverse range of voices and perspectives. By predominantly promoting men, Leo's at the Slice is inadvertently silencing the potential impact and creativity that women artists can bring to the table.
As a woman artist, I firmly believe in the power of representation and the ability to inspire and empower others. By not providing equal opportunities for women artists, Leo's at the Slice is missing out on the chance to showcase the unique talents, perspectives, and performances that women can offer.
This lack of gender diversity and inclusivity has ultimately led to my complete loss of interest in Leo's at the Slice. If a venue cannot recognize and uplift the talents of women artists, then it is not a place where I feel valued or supported.
I sincerely hope that Leo's at the Slice takes this feedback seriously and makes a conscious effort to promote gender diversity and inclusivity in their selection of performers. By doing so, they can create a more inclusive and representative space that truly supports and celebrates artists of...
Read moreTerrible place. My girlfriend was charged an additional 40 dollars after she bought one drink and closed out her tab. They’re not doing anything to fix the issue. Not to mention the complete unprofessionalism of their promoter (David Kovorkian, or Josh Short or whatever fake name he gives). No soundcheck, no line check, not upholding his promise of meeting the headliner, waiting from 2-7:30 to play our set when the promoter didn’t even show up til 3:30, false updates about ticket sales going great then playing to an empty room. All in all, Middletown can do a hell of a lot better than that place. If you love music in Southwest OH, DO NOT bring your band (or self) to Leo’s. I’d give a lower...
Read moreWorst establishment I've ever been to. Was harassed by security the entire time I was there for things that had no involvement to me. Got in my face and couldn't control their spit while talking. Whole organization is absolute trash and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Bouncer litterally told my friend "wait til after the show" threatening him. Place Can't control their sound properly, overpriced tickets, dirty tiny bathroom with no lock on the door, nasty rude bartenders, main performer didn't come to stage til 3AM for a show that started at 8. Entire place is a joke (DONT GO HERE I COULD LIST...
