Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Mifflin Township

I want to really like Giant Eagle but I feel like I'm a grocery and they're kind of pricey. I feel like you have a better deal going to Meijer or Kroger. At the same time however if they offer a large selection of more items that are harder to find or should I say more items that are little bit more Boutique. They have an excellent Wine and Liquor selection and I love their Bakery there's always a ton of options. Overall this store is laid out fairly easy to get around. Like I said it's not a place that I shop at a lot so I didn't know where everything was but it wasn't too hard to find what I was looking for. I love their grab-and-go selection it's amazing you can use it for lunch or dinner and sometimes even breakfast items are in there which is so nice for when you're on-the-go. It's a super easy location to get in and out of from Hamilton Road, there is a light and there's also a couple little small and turn areas that you can go into. They do have a GetGo on their site, which offers free air. Overall the story seems very clean and the staff were pretty nice for the most part. If you don't shop at Giant Eagle all the time I would suggest at least going in and checking it out finding some new products checking their grab-and-go but I do believe that you can find better deals at...

The U-scans are really sensative and there's ALWAYS an issue. The people who work there never offer to help bag your items if you have a lot of stuff on the U-scan when they have no lanes open (Morning shift) or even ask if they can open up a lane and help you faster. Also, stuff that says it's "On sale" never rings in as "On sale." It's almost everything, and the people who work there always say the same thing: "Oh, they just havn't entered the information in the system yet for the sales." And I've been there in the morning, afternoon, and night when it's happend so it's really not a matter of changing over unless someone is too lazy to update the information.......I try not to go to Giant Eagle enless I absolutely have to. The only good thing about it are the fuel points. You get way more than what Krogers gives you, however Giant Eagle is more expensive. I went into get a couple of money orders and there was only one or two people in front of me. I thought, I shouldn't have a long wait but boy was I wrong. The cashier was rude and didn't know what he was doing because each time he had to call someone to help him. When I got up to the counter he wasn't able to log in to the computer to print off the money orders then he told me he was going to take the next person in line until someone came and logged him into the money order machine instead of asking. I didn't have a problem with him helping the next person in line but it was the way he went about doing it. At the end of the transaction the cashier didn't thank me for waiting nor for letting the person behind me go ahead of me. Then,to put the icing on the cake I had to ask for...
