First time here at Barclay’s Salon. I major in Arts and Home Economics in my Education degree. So I can tell you who’s legit artist in style either hair fashion or painting and clothing. Well, I was just a walked-in customer and planned to do one hair straight coloring for a new customer of $150 dollars with a free haircut deals. Yet, it’s all unexpected to have a 6 hours hair done by the owner Mr. Ryan Barclay itself. Over the years, I’ve been looking for a better hairstylist that really had a visual sense when you show them a specific picture of hair color I wanted. For me, it doesn’t matter about the Price. I value more about the outcome of what I really wanted on my hair. The $150 went to $350 plus add ons coz my hair was really a lot of work with the colors he needs to worked on it. He did the partial Foil to adjust the dimensions of color to my hair. You need to be specific of what you want. I’m a Christian and been really praying to find a miracle to my hair since long time in this Seattle area, it’s hard to get that sense of hair miracle sometimes. lol (that’s for laughs) but the owner is also a Christian so for me, it’s a plus. Patience is a virtue indeed. At first I thought he wouldn’t be so good or I’m not expecting anything big changes in my face framing hairstyle that in-vision myself. My hair was been bleached and too much over blondes from the last hairstylist at JCPenney that I paid about almost $300 after tip. I paid $552.15 after tip, taxes and surcharge for my credit I used at this location. But the whole entire cost was $400 plus. I also did a perfect eyebrows waxing for the first time. The last time I got eyebrows waxing at JCPenney Salon, it was a nightmare. The hairstylist burnt my sensitive skin and lost my beautiful eyebrows ship. He trimmed it straight like I don’t need my eyebrows natural arched. I surely looked like a clown. lol but Thank God, Ryan did well with my eyebrows waxing, my hair done was amazingly great looking and smooth after all the 6 hours process. My hair hasn’t been partially foiled with very detailed hand art how he foiled my hair like a Christmas tree. (Just for laughs) I’m just hands down with his detailed hair style coloring process with the partial foil I got and the perfect toner to it. I haven’t seen anyone like how he manages to keep the lines straight from foiling to toning. He is very talented and very detailed. I observed his other hairstylist/hairdressers, they are all talented with their hands. I had two children with me who had been patient in waiting that long process but it was well worth it. Don’t expect the outside environment to be friendly in your eyes around the coffee shop next door. I think it’s only a grown up coffee stand and I had a 10 years old with me and my 15 years old teenager that wanted me to buy coffee. Lol (I replied we can make coffee at home) without explaining why not? You know what I mean. It’s in Everett area. But I’m rating base from my unexpected hairstyle and haircut makeover as a walked-in new customer that wasn’t familiar at all with the company nor the result just shocked me. For me, a great hairstylist/hairdressers depends on their experiences and patience with you as a customer. It was a well done job makeover indeed I’ve ever had. I’m happy and satisfied with the service despite the huge price difference between what I think to just pay below $300 as a new customer. Lol. But having a non fried toasty dead hair and I had kept most of my hair, it’s worth the price and the service of the owner Mr. Ryan. So thank you kindly for your service and help in making miracles with my hair. It surely an answered prayer and God’s will. He chooses to stay that 6 hours long to fixed my hair despite having some family errands as a parent. I myself had other plans that day with my children and my man but I’m happy that my children were very well behaved for 6 hours wait with me. I was there from 1pm until 6pmish closing. lol! That’s a very long time. These experiences was a history for me in many ways. It taught me a lot of...
Read moreHair turned out okay, but I don't see myself coming back here. I decided to try this salon out, as I'm looking for a new salon after mine closed. I emailed requesting an appointment, no one ever got back to me. Finally had a chance to call, and they "didn't have access" to the information I submitted online. Okay.. who did I send my information to then??
Upon scheduling, I was told their $69 new client special was only for very limited, specific services and would not apply for my foil appointment (nothing stated on their website listing their conditions for this offer). They also required a credit card to hold my appointment, in case I no-showed the appointment. I've never had a salon ask for this and I've never no-showed appointments, but... okay. I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
Came in for my appointment, and NO ONE was there. Doors were locked, lights off, my call went straight to voicemail. So they can no-show my appointment, but if I no-show they'd charge me??? I was standing outside in the freezing cold. Someone finally arrived as I was about to leave, turns out it was the OWNER, who my appointment was with! He apologized, as he thought the appointment was 15 minutes later than what it actually was. I wasn't given any sort of credit for my time spent waiting, just a quick apology then he moved on. I had even received text messages confirming my appointment time, you'd think they'd show up since they should know their own schedule. We started late, which cut into my personal time and was an inconvenience to me.
He ended up not having enough time to do the foil AND cut, so he asked another stylist to finish with the cut. I spent a LOT of money here, with no discount for being forced to wait for my own appointment. I honestly would have been happy with $10 off my services, really anything that would be an acknowledgment to being inconvenienced.
I've had previous stylists at other salons ask more questions about what I want and how I style my hair than this place. Not calling new clients back from the online forms they send via your website to your business is LOSING MONEY. Asking clients for credit cards due to no-shows then proceeding to no-show a new client you're trying to make a good impression with WILL lose you money. Advertising a new client special that you choose not to honor for a new client is absolutely ridiculous. I wished he did my hair a little different, if he actually asked me questions about what I wanted. Leslie was friendly and a pleasure to talk to for my cut. Otherwise, it was an expensive experience in a seemingly overhyped salon with poor communication that mislead me as a customer and didn't...
Read moreSo I moved here from puyallup 2 years ago, I’ve had a stylist in Puyallup that I’ve seen for over 15 years. I drove back and forth to go see her for my hair, she always did a fabulous job and I never was in the chair for more than 3 hours. Well I moved to Everett I recently needed a new salon as my gal was on maternity leave so I decided to give them a try. I called and asked for the most experienced stylist so they gave to the owner. First visit of color and just a slight trim NOT A CUT, I was in the chair for over 6 hours and 650.00 later!!!. I was dying of hunger and I have a very very bad neck and this killed me. Hair the first time was, ok. I did schedule another appt for the same and I was on the chair again for over 4 hours and both visits he was late. This visit late again and he was in such a hurry as his next client was there that he just rushed me. I had my hair cut short 3 years ago and had been growing it out and it was all one length except for one area in the back of my head. Well Mr Barclay was on such a hurry that my bangs were uneven and choppy and were not cut to blend into the sides of my hair, he proceeded to chop chop layers into my hair and gave me stringy fly away ends all over. (I’ve got a lot of hair but very f) I cant even curl my hair to save me now. It isn’t blended and looks like a rats nest when I do try to curl. I am soooo flipping upset, my hair was just the way I wanted and I always got compliments on it. Well now it’s up on my head in a clip most of the time. Ugh. Being charge 600.00 the first time and 450.00 the second time and to come out totally dissatisfied. Now I have to go back to my regular stylist so she can fix this mess. Dirty words just want to come out of my mouth. I stopped in the other day so he could look at the mess and all he said was he made a mistake. Lord, listen to your clients! It’s my hair not yours! I got 90 back for my hair cut and requested his tip to be refunded. And I see numerous complaints of the same sort of him. I DO...
