DoubleTake Luxury Consignment — Local services in Millburn

Absolutely the worst. Doubletake inflates the price online and marks down the same items in store. So if you are buying online, you are paying double the price. This store is not transparent and is deceiving. I called the store since my consigned items were approaching 90 days. I had been following my items progress online and saw that they were not yet sold. I called with the intention of letting them know that I will be picking up my items. They said they were putting them on a 50% off sale. I specifically told them I did not want my items to be a part of the sale which was my right to do, especially since they were sitting there for 90 days . They told me that they had already marked my items down, not once but twice and sold my items anyway. If you were a customer buying an item online, you as a customer were also being robbed. They were offering in store deals and we’re not offering those same deals online. Beware, this company is not transparent and they are deceiving. It’s also been discovered that they have not displayed items and then marked them down. Do not consign with them. I’ve worked with other consigners who offer much better terms, a split of 70 / 30 regardless of brand. They do not put anything on sale without asking you first. They offer 30 to 60 days consigned versus a mandatory 90 days. In response to your note an accommodation was never made. Had my items been pulled as requested. I would’ve received a proper check instead I received a 1/10 of the amount. If you're ever in the Short Hills area definitely take a visit to this unique thrift store - it's a MUST! I happen to work in the same strip mall as DoubleTake & saw they had a 25% off sale so I decided to stop in, and I'm thrilled I did :) When I first walked in I was pleasantly surprised by how much they offered. The items have different ranges in pricing so even if you're not looking to spend a fortune you can find something special! I stumbled upon these booties by Anine Bing I actually saw on their website before coming in, and I needed to have them - literally OBSESSED! When one of the staff members saw me eyeing them she kindly asked if I wanted her to put them aside for me - everyone at DoubleTake was sweet & helpful! They weren't pushy either I felt comfortable in the store as I looked through everything. Just to address some negative reviews - the prices are transparent & are the same online as in store, and the employees are not racist as I was shopping with a diverse group of people when I was there - we were all treated the same & with respect. Rascist! I went to pick up an order and all of a sudden they need a physical id a picture of it wasn’t ok enough because I’m black so they have a magical alert that says I have to show more for my pickup….ok I go home to look for my id show my girlfriend what I was going to get her(ruined my suprise) and decide to make another order on top of that because she’s an Angel and deserves the world before I could even go back to pick it up they canceled my order and I told them I was coming back even called afterwards so they could hold me order!from the moment I walked in I could tell I were being judged sad that in 2022 this still goes on and they won’t be seeing a dime of...
