One of the most inconsiderate and traumatic experiences I've had at a park. I was not informed about the ice skating "sessions." I showed up with my five kids and paid for four to skate while renting skates. I was again not told they would have less than 40 minutes to skate. My card was charged at exactly 3:16. After getting hot cocoa and cookies for the older kids, my toddler decided he wanted to try skating. I went to the window and asked for two more tickets so we could skate together. The staff member processed my card but then immediately informed me that the payment was for the next session at 4:30. I was confused because I was paying for the current session to skate with my other kids. She said we couldn’t join them, so I asked for a refund, as I had clearly stated my intention to skate with them.

She refused my refund, and when I expressed my frustration, she threatened to call the police! She told me I couldn’t even grab my other children and that I needed to leave immediately. That’s obviously illegal, and I wasn’t about to leave my little kids behind. They essentially stole from me, and as I was returning the kids' skates, another manager approached me, screaming and waving her hands in my face, seemingly trying to provoke me. She verbally assaulted me, calling me names and trying to trigger a reaction. Other people started recording, and I later discovered that some were her friends, attempting to post the incident on TikTok simply because I wanted a refund for not being able to skate during the session I had paid for. I didn’t even leave the window when I realized I could not skate.

A little understanding would have gone a long way, especially since their employees essentially scammed me. I plan to dispute the charge with my credit card company, as I feel I was wronged. This is particularly disheartening since I had previously posted two videos about Millcreek Commons on my TikTok, which received thousands of views and comments, all of which have since been deleted. It was such a terrible and embarrassing experience. I was also alone with my five kids, and she was yelling at them too. Then she literally ran to a police car, trying to create an even...

This new ice skating rink opened up recently in the heart of Millcreek. The only other outdoor ice skating rink in the Salt Lake area is the one in downtown, Gallivan Center. The price for admission is only $7 and skate rentals are an additional $5. Limited parking is available in the front of the rink, however, behind the rink, there is a whole lot of available parking.

The rink itself is more like a path rather than a large oval. There is a small circle in the edge of the path, but most of it is kind of a narrow, windy path. There isn't much of a railing on the sides of the rink, except around certain points of the path. There are cute lit up trees around the path and rubber areas to walk on and places to sit. I'm not sure if it's certain days or every day, but there is a DJ at the rink. This was my first time ice skating with a DJ and it definitely made it more fun!

Next to the rink, there is a large building where you get your skate rentals and admission wrist bands on the first floor and on the second floor, there is an overlooking patio available. I've heard you're able to buy hot chocolate there, but not sure if you can because I did not go into the building, but maybe that is where you can buy food and drinks!

Overall, it's a very cute date spot. Not a rink for figure skating or any technical type of tricks, but definitely one for aesthetics, a fun casual time, or a place...

My friends and I reserved two spots at 11 am to lead climb at the Millcreek Commons climbing wall. Based on the website, it showed options for autobelays, top rope, and lead climbing, with pictures of quickdraws on the wall. However, when we arrived, we were told that lead climbing isn't available and never has been. We were surprised since there were quickdraws on the wall and even signs about lead climbing rules.

We then asked about top roping but we were told that the holds were too hot to climb on. The staff claimed they were 110 degrees which we don't believe since we were able to grab the holds and metal carabiners comfortably. We also noticed top ropes weren't set up and the holds lacked set screws, which is a safety concern and significantly increases the risk of holds spinning.

We work at a climbing gym so we understand the staff's concerns, but they seemed to have little to no climbing experience. It was disappointing that we paid for an 11 am reservation but couldn't lead climb as advertised. When we asked for a refund, the staff weren't able to authorize it, and no one else was able to. We were offered a pass for a future visit, but being from out of state, this wasn't possible. Overall, the site seemed disorganized and unsafe, and we’re disappointed we couldn't climb or...
