TLDR: Quite pretentious and the food has an inflated sense of quality. Prepare to spend $300-$400 for two. I have had meals that justify the cost, but I really don't care that the server can point at the garden and mention the plants.
Yes, plants grow in gardens and come up from the soil. This is further accompanied by, oh, we bought those from the Farmer's market, as though that somehow justifies a 200% markup. In addition to the staff consistently pointing at the plants for what feels like only $5/occurrence, you will also have the luxury of hearing some of the most ludicrous stories about the wine (should you choose it, it's probably worth it).
One server mentioned the wine was aged to the tune of music and was resting on a specific latitude and longitude (healing latitude/longitude???). The wine mentioned was a $30 bottle of wine. I feel they could really amplify their storytelling, tell me you excavated the wine from an ancient Meospotamian catacomb and then had a professional yodeller come by at exactly every 7 hours to accentuate the flavors through harmonic frequencies. This is the kind of place this is, if you catch my drift and that may or may not be off putting to you.
Some of the food was decent. They served a berry popsicle for the desert, which I would put it lower than an orange dream bar you can procure from the grocery store at less than $2. But alas, a popsicle is imaginative and edgy (if you are a toddler). To our dismay, it also wasn't good, overly sweet, with almost no flavors that differentiated from a store bought popsicle (oh, but mind you, they included some herbs from the garden at only $10 for the plate). Following the popsicle, we had half a peach for desert with some cream. Good, yes, but again, isn't there a bakery downstairs? Also, it's literally half a peach with a sprinkle of Graham crackers + cream and at over $10 per microplate...
Anyway, I went with the mocktail option as wine doesn't sit well with me. They put about as much effort into those as you can guess. I also ordered a couple of drinks. First was okay, second, again all sugar and no depth (noticing a pattern here?). Using sugar to offset flavors is an automatic 0 star for me. Here's a tip: make less mocktails, but make each individual one more interesting, don't mask it with sugar and make it in closer alignment with the dish or don't sell them.
The lamb was outright disgusting. It tasted undercooked (I can't see in the dark, so cant confirm, and it was extremely chewy). Pasta, good. Salad good. Bread, good (they have a bakery downstairs, remember?).
Service, it's okay. Felt fake, a bit pompous (I mean, you would need to be to upsell this), but nice enough. Atmosphere, good, we sat in the garden, but I deducted stars because it grew annoying to hear about their plants (mainly due to the cost, shouldn't growing your own plants reduce the cost as opposed to function as a marketing tactic??).
I don't think we are the target demographic, and for the price, I can visit two separate restaurants downtown that have as good as or better food, including drinks. If the price was cut in half or even a third lower, it would be reasonable, though the dishes are still devoid of creativity or interest and, ultimately, failed to synthesize an...

Read moreTable X is hidden away in kind of the start of a neighborhood. It has got a modern, plain square look to the outside of the building with a big neon "Table X" sign. Once you walk in, you're in a little curtained-off section to be seated. There are round tables in the middle and cushioned seats around the edges of the room. The kitchen is visible from the seats. The atmosphere was very classy and jazzy, however, the lighting was a bit bright for the aura of the room.
We sat down and the waitress came to our assistance right away. We ordered the Chef's Tasting Menu with Wine and were given picked radish to help cleanse our palates. The first wine came with our first course, the Fingerling Potato Dijonnaise. It tasted like fancy mashed potatoes. The sauce wasn't too overpowering and the spices were well mixed. The second course was the oh so delicious Sweet Potato Gnocchi. This was my favorite course. The Gnocchi just melted and I could not get enough of it. It was a little spicy, but not too spicy. I've had Gnocchi before, but not "spicy" Gnocchi and it was just delicious. We were supposed to receive our second wine with the Gnocchi, however, we received our wine a little late; we received it a little after our third course. The third course was the Striped Bass with Winter Squash Sauce and Gala Apples. The sauce tasted buttery, however, it was not too buttery. I was a little iffy before I tried the sauce because I tend to get sick of buttery sauces a little fast, however, this was very balanced. The apples and onions were seasoned to not take away from the taste of the bass, but rather to add to it, which really showed the skills of the chef because onions and apples have very strong flavors. We received our third wine a little after we received the second wine. The last wine was a red wine to match with our fourth course: Bobbette Steak. My steak was a little bland, however, my partner's steak was very well seasoned. I was very excited for this course because I love meat, but I still preferred the Sweet Potato Gnocchi over the Steak. Our last course (fifth course) was the dessert. It was a bowl of Pumpkin Compote with Maple Ice Cream, Ginger Snap Cookies, and Creme. The dessert was very well balanced and was not too sweet. Overall, the Chef's Tasting Menu was decent. All of the courses were very well balanced and delicious.
I chose to rate this high-rated establishment a three out of five stars because the atmosphere of the restaurant was a bit put off because lighting, the service was not the best due to the late wine, and the last course before the dessert was supposed to be the highlight of the Chef's Tasting Menu, however, my steak was not seasoned all too well. The pros about this place was that the interior design of the establishment was very modern and simple in a good way, my partner's steak was seasoned perfectly, and the wines fit the courses very well. I don't believe I need to come back to this establishment, however, it was a good experience to have...
