Recently, I visited FIKA Infusion + Wellness to see what IV therapy was all about. As an avid cyclist I am always trying to see what remedies, products or nutrition options can improve long rides where energy levels take a beating. To begin, I was immediately impressed upon walking into FIKA - the atmosphere is modern and inviting and the staff is welcoming to all. I tried out one of their signature remedies called "Compete," designed to aid in endurance and energy levels due to amino acids, magnesium, B-12 and B Complex. The process was simple, easy and relaxing and didn't take too long at all. The staff answered all of my questions about the process while educating me on the IV therapy since I am new to this all. I had a long ride (over 100 miles) scheduled for the next day and was excited to see how the IV drip worked when put to the test. I'm happy to report the ride went awesome! I felt great, energized hydrated and revitalized for the entire 5-6 hours on the saddle. The best part? I beat a personal record on a particularly steep segment at mile 70 of the ride. My wife's overall experience has been wonderful at FIKA. She suffers from severe chronic migraine and needs the migraine IV therapy to help break-up the amount of medication she has to take for her 15+ migraines per month. She has also had severe trauma with infusions from many surgeries over her life and having to fish for veins by unprofessional nurses. Since becoming members at FIKA, I've had great communication with Jeff (co-owner) who is very accommodating and responsive, as well as Paula (GM in Park City location) who is AMAZING!! I got my first elective IV last week and it was great! I have always had a needle phobia, so I wouldn't say it was "fun", but it was pretty painless. The staff are amazing and attentive (and skilled - I'm not easy to stick). I sucked it up and tried it because I had been blowing off my weight loss eating plan for about 3 weeks and "couldn't" stop eating junk food. As a result, I had been feeling unmotivated and blah for a couple weeks, even with my regular B12 shots (getting these every 2 weeks had already been a massive accomplishment for scared me).

My doctor suggested the infusion to give me energy and as a way to draw a line in the sand of getting back on plan. I felt AMAZING after the treatment.
