Went to a soft opening at @clawboba Very cool concept. Boba tea & claw machines. Giving honest review with lots of love! Aesthetically speaking, it was sooo cute. Drinks were not the best. We ordered their Taro milkshake with coconut milk & boba. It was honestly not the best boba tea we've ever tasted. It was blended without ice and felt like they blended oatmeal and dumped stevia in there and added boba. Worst texture ever. I couldn't even sip it on the 3rd try without gagging. That texture was traumatizing coming from a huge straw, lol. They kindly gave me a new drink when I told them and they were apologetic about us not liking it. I ordered their Passion Fruit Tea with Boba. That was way better and I was able to finish the whole thing but was still veryyyy sweet. Now, for the machines. I spent eleven dollars on machines and did not win one plushy. 1 token = $1 so you have perspective. That means I tried eleven times & that's that the claw grabbed a plushy every time but kept dropping it. I get the whole claw machine scheme but when you're spending money on drinks also, these machines need to be a bit easier with winning prizes. Also, the plushies were kid friendly only. It was all kiddie plushies and no anime or anything for adults. I was okay with the selection but would have liked a wider variety of plushies/ keychain options. My partner was not interested in any of the plushies. He said he would have enjoyed the experience if they had anime characters in the claw machines. This seems more like a kid environment and not for all ages. Sure, parents would enjoy a drink and the aesthetic, but other than that’s there’s not much for adults to do here, unless they geek over kid plushies. I left pretty sad because I wasted 11 dollars and did not win a plushy. Overall, this experience was a 4.5 out of 10 for us. Amazing concept but definitely needs to be...
Read moreI was roaming around the area and noticed this new boba place with Soft Opening banner so thought to give it a try. I am a big fan of Boba and had some original boba at different places, so i knew what i am getting into. I ordered flavored Mango Tea with Peach bursts and wifey got Thai Mil Tea with Boba. She didn’t liked her very much as it was more sweet than it should be and flavor of tea was getting away with sweetness. I liked mine as the flavor was balanced and it was refreshing. The claw machines there are good to have fun and they are not badly rigged as you see at other places. We played 6 games and won a price and I also saw some other families winning too. Overall i think a good place for quick fun n drink.

Read morePerfect combo of bubble tea cafe and claw arcade. As I waited for my drink, I had time to try my luck on the machines! Ordered a "dirty Thai" (combo of brown sugar and Thai teas) as I read on Yelp that they would make an off-menu item when requested if having trouble deciding between drinks, which I appreciated.
With the crane games, I came away with three adorable cat and Sanrio themed stuffies for my little girls back home as I was visiting from out of town. The win rate felt fair as I talked with fellow customers who also had a basket full of plushies! (They gave me tips on how to snag the best prizes.) One toddler/preschool age girl was even having trouble winning when an employee came out to console her with a prize from the mini machines.
Lots of beautifully designed Instagrammable backgrounds made for a fun outing, complete with selfies. Will definitely visit again if I find myself in the area.
Would love to be in contact with the owners,...
