My husband and I have shopped at Tommy Bahama in Ridgedale Mall several times throughout the year and usually enjoy great experiences with the staff.
Unfortunately, today was an exception. Iām sharing this review in the hope that upper management will consider improvements to their processes and procedures.
Three days ago I purchased one of their newer sweatsuit sets. After only five hours of wearing it, the wrist cuffs began to pill and fray. Once I got home, I removed the outfit so I could return it.
On January 19, I went to the store with the receipt and tags in hand, but the manager on duty refused to process a return, stating that the item had been worn. As a frequent customer, my purchases are also on file under my account. Their posted return policy clearly states that returns are accepted within 90 days with a receipt for a full refund or exchange, yet the manager insisted that I could only receive store credit because the item had been worn.
This directly contradicted the storeās return policy. Despite explaining my concerns, the manager was argumentative and claimed she was following the instructions of her management team.
This interaction was both disappointing and unpleasant, particularly in a high-end store where Iāve previously had great experiences. Regrettably, I will no longer be shopping at the Ridgedale Tommy...

Before we could even take out the shorts or receipt, the person at the register told us it's been too long and we should have come in back in July. First off, my husband is a first responder and has been trying to not expose himself to others for safety reasons. I'm a high risk person so I'm VERY careful about going anywhere. We were still deciding which design of shirt. David started to pull a long face. Suddenly, he walked away from us like he was needed urgently elsewhere. My husband tried to get David's attention to get his opinion. But, David could not be bothered to ask if the shirt works out. David was busy arranging clothes on the rack instead of attending to my husband the only customer. Could it be because I'm Asian? I don't think we'll go back to shop unless we are returning something online. I hope Tommy Bahamas work on Customer service...
