I called Larry for a simple Chrome / Windows compatibility issue thinking he could probably fix it quick because i'm very busy. He remotely logged on and in less than one minute claimed i had a virus solely based on the word "apps" in a Windows message. Ridiculous. THEN he says "he's never seen this before". There was no reason whatsoever to think, or say, that i had a virus. I'll also attest to the fact that i have NEVER had a virus in 30 years of owning computers. He made statements about my computer, and what was going on that weren't even true. When i tried to correct him he immediately got mad and interrupted me. He also doesn't walk you through what he's doing. If you try to ask a question, he will immediately interrupt you, and get bent out of shape. And every time i tried to show him something that pertained to the issue, he TOLD ME very rudely to "let go of the mouse". I also watched him delete a shortcut without asking me, and for no reason. He is rude and belittling, and has very poor people skills. He obviously didn't want me to know anything. I felt like i was being conned, and his main goal is to get your computer in his shop so that he can say he did work, needed or not, and charge for it. He wanted me to bring in my computer for virus removal and full cleaning with ZERO basis, and after not allowing me to ask any questions. Nice try, Larry. Very shady if you ask me.
These guys do fast work, and it's all face to face with the experts themselves like business was done before mega corporations took over the world. Bottom line: they get the job done. I chatted with Larry a bit and learned some of his background with computers, which I know something about. This guy has been around, knows both the breadth and depth of working on computers. He's in an elite category of computer people who have been doing this a long time and deal with people face to face and also do the computer repair work with their own hands -- the whole ball of wax. It just doesn't get any better than that.
A note for the curious types.... This is how business is done in Asia. You take your computer to an experienced person working out of a building or even a district that is full of technology-related things. You do business one on one with competent people. Not like in the U.S., where you take your computer to a mega store and deal with a salesperson who is not computer-competent and sends it off to some young person who was recently trained on basic things. What fun to do business the old fashioned way....which is going to return to the new fashion way in the U.S. when the long-term economic-financial depression picks up speed and hits crash mode again. Read moreI had an issue with my computer microphone not working and the computer was also unable to detect external microphones, which is a huge issue given all the Zoom meetings during the COVID pandemic. I tried updating the audio drivers, which didn't work and took my computer to our IT person, who tinkered around with it without success. I called Larry and left a message explaining the issue. He called me back quickly and explained the potential issues and pricing. I was satisfied so I brought my computer in one afternoon right before the holidays. They said it's typically a 3-4 day turnaround, which was OK with me. To my surprise, they called me back less than 24 hrs after I brought my computer in and it was ready to go! The microphone is working again and it was an issue with some other drivers and the BIOS. I'd like to thank Larry and his team for their great work and speedy turnaround...
