This store is the worst when it comes to delivery of a product! Yes, the customer service is great. They acknowledge you when you walk in the store and are friendly. I am writing this review based on their lack of communication and failure to keep their word. On sept 16th I took 8 screens in for repair. Derek helped me with my order. He told me it would take 2 weeks for all 8 screens...sure no biggie! I provided him with my measurements and paid for my order approximately $160. On Sept 28th, I contacted the store for an update and was told they had 2 more screens left to work on and that all of my screens would be ready by the following Monday. Monday rolls around and I call to confirm and spoke to Jesse. He told me the screens would be ready by the end of the day. I arrived at the store at the end of the day to pick up my screens and told by Garrett that they aren't ready. He told me they have 3 screens left to work on. I gave him the spiel about what I was told earlier but of course there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with the supervisor on duty to express my dissatisfaction and to find out why my order is taking so long. I was met by John, the supervisor. He was very apologetic, but all he could tell me was to come back the next day and guaranteed they would be ready. I returned the next day(Tuesday) and my screens were ready, but it only goes down hill from here. I get back home, excited to put on my new screens and none of them(all 8) fit my windows. I can't begin to tell you how frustrated I was, but instead of demanding my money back I decided to give them a chance to fix the situation. I called the store the next day(Wednesday) and spoke to Julian). I explained to him everything and he told me he would make sure they were fixed that same day. He told me he was off at 4 but promised to leave a note for Garrett to have the screens repaired. My wife took the screens to the store to meet Garrett and was told by another store associate (Elizabeth) that Garrett called off sick... Oh great!!! so here we are and of course Elizabeth has no clue about what is going on. There's no note left and no one even bothered to call and update us. I was at work at the time, but called the store immediately and demanded to speak with a supervisor. I spoke to Denise, again very apologetic but never offering a solution to the problem. The only thing she offered to do was call me the following day after she does some "research ". This morning I recieved a call from Denise as promised but this doesn't change the review one bit. My wife spoke to her and she apologized and of course throwing in excuses on how they are training different associates...blah blah blah. She told my wife that another supervisor by the name of Bryce was going to help Garett get the screens done by today. I appreciate that, but why does it take this long for someone to step in???Like I said in the beginning of my review, most of the associates are kind but when it comes to delivering a product they suck!!! They don't communicate with each other, they lack problem solving skills, oh and their word doesn't mean jack!!!
Update:
Just arrived at the Ace store to pick up screens and again measurements still wrong!!! Mind you, I brought in the measurements for them to follow, and they still measured them the same as last time. It took them 5 minutes to locate the screens because they were in different places. This store is unorganized and have incompetent staff in the hardware department. No one communicates with eachother and they all stand around looking dumb. Don't shop here and avoid this store at all cost. Now I'm going home without my screens, but luckily I was able to...
Read moreI've been a loyal long time customer of ace until yesterday an associate by the name of Nena and one of the ladies from paint i had just bought two sets of locks and some paint a couple days prior . Well the paint they sold me was not the right shade so i was going to return it and wait for my dad to help because i didn't realize you need a primer first and the lady from paint argued with me about that nobody in the store would have sold me paint like i said and she actually started getting mad at me and basically told me i was lying to her about them trying to sell me paint that wasn't the right kind but later told me all their paint has primor in it so i was confused at this point . But the paint when I went to go return it had a a line of paint across the top from when I opened it and i was not only told that it was a tint paint in which i was sold when i had clearly stated what i wanted which was not tint but they wouldn't return it even though they had a receipt and it wasn't used . Then they wouldn't return either of my locks i bought because i purchased one with one set of keys in it and there were two sets of locks and door knobs and i was told they check each and every one and if they were missing keys then that's a factory problem and i would have to return it to the factory i was told after nena called another mod. Then the last box i will admit i put one wrong doorknob in it but it was hard to tell and in my old age i guess i messed up and didn't catch it but i immediately went home and found the correct knob and put it in. I mean what am I going to get out of one door knob because it doesn't even make a whole door knob but she acted like i was trying to get over on her and i felt so judged and like i was being ridiculed by them and i have never felt so uncomfortable shopping...
Read moreAlways has very helpful, friendly service. Using their rewards program, if you frequent the hardware store semi-frequently to frequently, you can get some great savings. My theory is this; unless you are buying bulk, such as lumber and buliding supplies, then do yourself a favor and visit Strand Ace Hardware. Some items i found to be a dollar or two more, over Home D., and some items where less or equivalent. The difference? Having knowledgeable, friendly help from people who are genuinly happy to help you. Ever get help at a big warehouse store? Well, if your lucky enough to find someone, usually takes searching isles for 15 minutes, then waiting on them, as they are usually with another customer, then when they finally help you, you often realize that they know less than you do. So spending a couple extra dollars gains you knowledgeable help, saves large amounts of your valuable time, supports a locally owned business who cares about their employees and treats them well and does the same to you. I leave feeling happy and with the correct items i came in for. That doesn't generally go with my visits to the cold, foreboding, maze of supplies, that are...
