Rivets is a bar with a classic menu and also a twist; you can get fried pickles and you can also get peanut butter, bacon, and jalapeƱo pepper jelly on your burger. I know I sampled a bite of my sister's a while back, but I cannot recall if I liked this burger. My sister does love it though! The crowd is anywhere from bikers, a girls night, date night, people off work in scrubs at the bar, or in our case, a family. It is loud and the music ranged from Garth Brooks to Melanie Martinez. Live bands do play there as well! I'd love to give you a run down on their alcohol offerings - but being pregnant I don't pay that much attention anymore! There's beer and liquor, that much I know. We started off with fried pickles which come with a side for ranch. The breading was a bit much for me as it was thickly coated on. One bite and the whole pickle came out of its breading pocket. Had it been thinly battered, it would have stayed in place better. For almost $10, the portion size is quite small - very small actually. Maybe 10-12 pickles? Pickles aren't expensive either so the price is a bit inexcusable. Back home in the south, you can get a whole basket for maybe $5-6. Decisions, decisions. I was torn between 3 burgers but the Lobster Mac & Cheese sounded good (but no lobster). I ended up with the Garlic Parm Mushroom Burger. It did NOT hold true to its name. The mushrooms are said to be garlic-parmesan sautƩed yet I tasted no parm and not as much garlic as I'd have expected; and right now I've got a nose like a bloodhound so I can taste and smell EVERY little thing! The burger was a burger - nothing outstanding. Due to the taste (or lack thereof?), I almost questioned if I was given simply a mushroom burger. I up-charged my fries to sidewinder wedges ($2); don't do this. They're cut in a spiral so they aren't as fluffy as actual potato wedges and because they're thinner they taste almost like a house potato chip. Their fries are actually quite yummy; the ones that are slightly breaded and when seasoned are amazing! If anything, I should have paid the $2 up-charge to go from regular fries do Garlic Parm fries. The parking lot can be small for how popular this place is! So you may have to circle a time or two. I did want to try dessert but....(keep reading as to why we left) Our experience with service wasn't the best. I dare say it was the service, our passive aggressive (nice-rude as my husband puts it) server that may have broke the experience. It was driving my husband insane how rude she was being to my MIL. However, other employees were coming by to deliver food and clear plates, so the teamwork was appreciated. The menu is overpriced; 6 entrees (almost all burgers) + 1 kid's meals + 1 beer + 1...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCan't even give them one star - but can't post without one. Started off with a rude server taking our drink order. USUALLY when someone asks for a hot drink...and makes it a double Bailey's & coffee in a pint glass with whipped cream...they do not mean on the rocks. When I mentioned I had ordered them hot... she sighed loudly, rolled her eyes and slid both hands back into her hair!!! After ordering dinner and attempting to drink something we DID NOT ORDER, I took them up to the bar to get what we DID order. The bartender told me he would be right back with them... But NO...the other bartender stopped him, and (obviously annoyed) came over to inform me that he's not going to serve me a hot drink in a pint glass. I told him we had ordered double B&C with whip in a pint glass, and we were not served what we ordered. Not to mention - a hot drink over a full glass of ice does not constitute a double drink. I mention we get them at the DoubleTree all the time. He tells me, "I don't care what they do, I'm not going to do it... A pint glass doesn't have a handle to hold the hot drink." I reminded him that many cultures drink hotter beverages in handle free cups every day. I told him not to worry about it; that the server was already rude to us - and he was too...and that we were leaving. He told me, "I'm the manager, so if you have something to complain about, talk to me." Neither one had ever apologized or offered another alternative for us. We will never go back, and I will happily provide free advertising for them! Currently typing this as we enjoy our piping hot Bailey's & coffee at the DoubleTree lounge - where we ALWAYS have outstanding service, food and drink WITH a discount for locals at dinner!!! Thanks, Joey! DoubleTree cocktails in photo below. YUM! Learn something about customer service,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited this restaurant after calling ahead to inquire whether pets were allowed on the patio. I was assured they were, which was important as I was bringing my puppy along. Unfortunately, upon arrivalājust 40 minutes laterāI found the patio area had already been locked. Thankfully, the staff made an exception and allowed me to dine outside, which I truly appreciated. š Initially, the male server seemed a bit hesitant or possibly inconvenienced by the outdoor seating request, but his demeanor softened throughout the meal, and his service became warmer with each check-in. I ordered the chicken sesame salad, which was absolutely deliciousāa perfect balance of fresh ingredients and bold flavor. š½ Although I didnāt catch his name, the gentleman server also recommended a fruity wheat draft beer šŗ that paired excellently with the salad. It was light, refreshing, and memorable. Given that I had my puppy with me, I didnāt linger as long as I would have liked, but the outdoor atmosphere was peaceful, with light foot traffic and guests mentioning that dogs are usually welcomed on the patio. It made for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. I will definitely return, especially for the great food and pet-friendly atmosphere. However, I do recommend the restaurant clearly post patio hours on their website and consider adding a "Pets Welcome on Patio" sign or note. It would go a long way in making pet owners feel more comfortable and...
