Better off going to Sizzler or similar. made a reservation for 6pm on a Saturday. slight wait no issue there. expecting a more high end experience. place was as busy and loud as a I-hop or Denny's after church lets out. just annoying. place is confused what it wants to be, a sports bar or a high end restaurant. Drinks: wife ordered bloody Mary and a soda. I ordered a beer and a ice tea. bloody Mary was marginally ok, hard to mess up beer. ordered a mushroom Bree appetizer, the Bree part was decent, the dipping bread had a honey drizzle that clashed with the Bree making it almost not edible. for dinner we ordered two 12oz new York steak medium, it comes with mash potatoes and 4 to 6 asparagus spears. we asked if it came with a side salad. it does not. we ordered side salads with extra ranch dressing each. the side salads come out first. the leaf's looked like I went out and pulled dandelions and there you go. only came with one ranch each. the two ranch dressings didn't come out until wife was done with salad and I was half way done. the mushroom Bree appetizer came out while in middle of salad. that should have came before salad, that is why it is called appetizer. main meal came, wife's steak was between medium and medium well. my steak was a little over well done. Also had a sweet rib sauce on it and not a steak sauce. we asked for extra napkins and those never came. the only person who had great skills was the busboy as he took our used plates in a timely fashion. spent well over $200.00 for four drinks, dandelion lettuce, clashing tasting appetizer, and steak cooked wrong. by midnight my stomach was hurting a bit, something was not sitting right. This place was like a over priced for the money, service and quality. go...
Read moreThis used to be the Pizzeria UNO and we were so sad it closed. I love supporting independent businesses but the environment here is far from welcoming. For some reason this place has become a regular hangout for some questionable types and it's very disappointing. During both our visits we saw a dining room full of confederate flags & certain red hats, a lot of shocking paraphernalia (stars & bars with jesus, ‘we speak English here’ t-shirts). We felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. I spoke to one employee later and from what they said this wasn't a random occurrence; Wildfire Pub does attract the wrong element but that's because the owner is ok with it. The host was very nice & helpful. The food was basic; you’re in Modesto so a poke/tuna appetizer shouldn’t be your first choice. Their pizzas are made with flavorless crust; toppings were good but this isn’t something we’d order again. Pastas were nothing special, sure they're better than Olive Garden but that's a low bar. One thing we enjoyed immensely were their house made cocktails- they were creative and perfectly put together. Kudos to the waitstaff for the service; they work really hard and they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed given the very uncomfortable atmosphere in their dining room. If you live in the neighborhood it's best to sit at the bar, have a few drinks and watch the Niner game. And make sure you don't have the wrong bumper sticker on your car because someone did get keyed...
Read moreLooking for a dining experience that will ignite your taste buds? Look no further than Wildfire Public House in Modesto! This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who craves hearty, flavorful dishes that are sure to satisfy. My family and I recently visited Wildfire Public House, and we were blown away by the incredible food and atmosphere. We started off our meal with the giant soft pretzel, which came with a delectable cheese sauce that was the perfect accompaniment. The Thai chili wings were also a standout, with just the right amount of spice to make our mouths water. For our main courses, we ordered the NY steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus, which was cooked to perfection and had an amazing flavor. I personally opted for the rack of lamb, which was incredibly juicy and tender, and paired beautifully with the asparagus and red potatoes. My son couldn't resist the WFPH burger, which he added bacon to, and it did not disappoint. The fries were also perfectly crispy and seasoned. Last but certainly not least, my daughter enjoyed the chicken strips and fruit. The chicken strips were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the fruit provided a refreshing balance to the savory flavors of the rest of our meal. Overall, we had an amazing experience at Wildfire Public House. The food was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great...
