BEWARE OF SIGN UP.
First off, as a prior rower, I do not recommend. Seems like a soul cycle, you erg for a 45 min class and they keep track of your stats, kinda cool. There was one intro I received on technique upon signing up. In class, I would watch technique for some individuals be poor, and in those classes the individuals were not corrected from what I could see. Technique was not routinely discussed which is VITAL to a machine that can be used so drastically wrong. They play music, the lights dim and brighten, and you erg/ lift some weights etc. not a bad class if the technique was improved.
My issue is with the overall cost (seriously just join a rowing club! The water is way more fun anyway)
I was told in store by an employee that I could cancel my subscription at any time, and that it was a hassle but I could be refunded if it was the day of subscription renewal. I don’t know if she was new and just misspoke, or what, but this was a lie. I was told one thing, and found out another upon trying to cancel.
Left the state, forgot about the subscription. On my subscription date in April, I realized I was still being charged, and called to cancel. Had to fill out a form, but I did. I would be charged for the next 30 days, but then it would be over. Sure.
This month, I find I’ve been charged AGAIN, for the next 30 days. After asking for a refund for the place I haven’t attended in months, they said “ "unfortunately he is not going to be able to get this month refunded for you. Although you submitted the cancelation form on April 17th, the charge this month still needed to be drafted according to the cancelation policy" . because they took an extra day to draft the cancellation which is a simple enough form, I’m getting charged another 30 days.
Very disappointed in the cost, the lack of technique, and the lack of...
Read moreI've been a member of Rowhouse Monroe for over a year now, and I absolutely love it! It is a workout routine that I can stick to and I love how they have options to keep working out fun. From strength training, to full rows, and even restorative classes. They have options to keep your workout routine exciting and varied. The theme rows (glow rows, karaoke, arcade rows, music style rows, relay) and monthly benchmarks are also something I look forward to. Whether I am trying to improve my 500 meter benchmark or singing along as I work on my form I am certainly never bored. The coaches here all have their own strengths, style and flair! Providing members with a challenging yet fun workouts that keep everyone motivated and coming back for more. More than all of that the sense of community makes all the difference. You can absolutely come and go as you wish but the community that the members, coaches, and GM Jason have is one that I am beyond grateful to be apart of. Seriously, having coaches celebrate your achievements and members cheering you on when you hit goals is definitely encouraging. If you're looking for a great workout in Monroe, CT,...
Read moreWARNING! If you want to try the classes DO NOT listen to their sales pitch; ONLY sign up for the intro month. Like Jess, I was told in store by the employees that I could cancel my subscription anytime. I was talked into adding the "soft opening" membership to my intro month as to lock in that amazing price.
After the intro month proved to not work in my favor, I cancelled my plan. After confirmation of the plan cancellation on June 30th, I was charged July 1st for this month AFTER stating I wanted to cancel.
This was the BS that was sent to me via email: From the agreement: Section 2: You may cancel your month-to-month membership at any time with written notice given 30 days in advance. Section 4: I understand that my membership will continue to renew monthly until I properly cancel, that proper cancellation requires me to provide Row House - Monroe with a 30-day advance written notice of cancellation ...
30-day notice, but yes you can cancel anytime ... um, that is not how it was sold AND the trust I had in the employees ... disappointment x infinity.
MOST COMPANIES HAVE GOTTEN RID OF THESE SCAMS ... NOT ROW...
