Big Y — Local services in Monroe

Went to the Big y in Monroe Ct. at the end of Dec, 2023, to buy cannoli dip. The container I picked up seemed light to me, considering it said it weighed 1.02 lbs. All the other containers on the shelf felt light too. I took it to a vegetable scale and weighed it and it was light. See photo. When I tried to address the issue in the bakery, the woman was extremely defensive and not understanding what I was telling her. She said the scale is not wrong, the price is the price. I then went to the service desk and explained the problem again and was able to communicate with the bakery that the wrong weights were put on every single package. I consider myself an elite self-checkout user, a member of the top 0.01% of grocery store shoppers in the world, capable of successfully scanning, bagging, and paying with the speed and grace of a falcon, yet I am ashamed to solemnly admit that I was wholly bested by the self-checkout kiosks at this Big Y. They were too advanced even for me, and I needed assistance multiple times from the teller. I left the store with my head down, shoulders slumped and tail metaphorically between my legs. You may have won this battle, self-checkout machine, but mark my words, I will win this war. I dont write reviews for grocery stores but today I feel it necessary. 99% of the staff here are great. Except for the kid working the pizza counter. His name was Bill. Bill had the worst attitude. I asked for a slice of pepperoni but he only had plain, so I asked him if he could put a couple slices of pepperoni on it and heat it up. He straight up said no and I had to wait 20 minutes until the pepperoni pizza was done. I asked him why he wouldn't and he said it's against the rules.
