Candy World — Local services in Monterey

Right off the bat, it's a candy store. There isn't all that much that can go awry. They have a decent selection of candy. With a very good selection of taffy. Candy is sold by the pound with a quarter pound minimum. The price per pound was $17 in June 2023. I will point out that we stopped in quite a few candy shops this week and two or three before Candy World on the same day in Monterey. I'm only referring to candy shops that sold individual bulk taffy, and not just pre-boxed taffy. I will point out that Candy World on Old Fishermans Wharf was the most expensive per pound of the candy stores we visited in Monterey on the same day. The least expensive was on Cannery Row. The price difference between the high and the low three dollars per pound. ($14 vs. $17 per pound) Whether or not that matters to you is up to you. We of course walked out with some more taffy to join the other taffy we purchased else where. Candy World seemed like a nice store if you are into candy. Types of candy do vary and stores tend to vary on what the may carry. So keep that in mind and I kind of focused just of stores with bulk individual taffy available. Hope this helps...

The salt water taffy—vast in selection, it is. Each flavor, a unique path one may take, crafting a collection as diverse as the Jedi Council itself. The ability to handpick each piece? A power not to be taken lightly. Temptation, strong it is, for the bucket fills swiftly, much like the rising tide on Kamino. A Jedi must remain mindful, for with great sweetness comes great cost, especially being located directly on the Wharf.

Yet, the joy of mix-and-match, a true freedom it offers. From chewy delights to sour bursts of energy, balance in all things, a Jedi must find. Beware, though, the excitement of the moment—credits can vanish faster than a Sith Lord in the shadows.

A place of wonder, indeed. Worthy of a Jedi’s visit, it is. But remember, young one—control, discipline, and an awareness of your bucket’s weight, the key to victory shall be.

Bought some candy, hand the gal my credit card, she rings it up (all while she’s on the phone) I sign the receipt , hand her the receipt and pen back. She bags the candy, I ask for my receipt. She says I have it. I check my wallet and bag. I tell her I don’t have it. She then picks up two receipts she stapled together and hands me mine. I point out their sign “if you don’t get a receipt with your purchase it’s free”. She told me I didn’t take my receipt. I hold it up and show her where she stapled it to hers...... it never was in my hands..... but i could tell we weren’t gonna get anywhere. Please, just take down YOUR sign. Soooo, a true...
