We booked this wine tour in August for a November tour date. Less than a week before the tour I received an email from Gary asking if we could move our tour date to the day before or after. I explained that we were in town for a wedding and that our tour date is our only free day. Got an email back confirming the original date and everything seemed fine.

About an hour later I received another email telling me that another couple on our same tour cancelled their reservation so Gary assumed that we were part of that couple's party, so he took it upon himself to cancel our reservation and refund our fee. Unbelievable, but sadly true.

I phoned Gary and he admitted that he just assumed we were with the other couple. He then explained that his dentist wanted to bring a group of 25 on a tour and picked our date and time and Gary just couldn't say no to him and the $4000 he would collect. Yet he had no problem saying no to us, even though we booked the date and time nearly 3 months in advance and never agreed to give up our spots.

If you're considering this tour, you're well advised to search elsewhere. I've never received such poor treatment from a business in my life and it's a miracle that they're still in business given the complete lack of customer service and extremely sketchy...

We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into when we signed up for this tour but we are so glad we did! We knew there would be wine but you get so much more. As soon as Gary picks you up, you know you’re in for a good time. We had the pleasure of being greeted by his dog, which made it even more fun for me (I love dogs!). Then you’re whisked up the hills and told many great things about the landscape, its history and their owners. Once you arrive to the small town, you feel welcomed. The wines are poured expertly and deliciously! I think what made it even more enjoyable is the people you meet. There were 9 of us together on this particular Saturday. By the end of it, you’re friends with everyone! The day wouldn’t have been the same without Pete. But I’ll let you experience him and he’s yet another reason to book your tour. This is a review of the Ghost Tour of Old Monterey that is being offered by this company. Be advised that this tour is no longer being offered. We found this out about an hour after it was supposed to begin last Saturday, July 20th, 2024. Though Skip was very apologetic and did refund our money, this really ruined things as we arranged our plans around this tour since it's only offered on Saturdays. We could have done a number of other things in the area, like visit the aquarium, Cannery Row, or Carmel by the Sea.
