Wife and booked one night stay this weekend. Have stayed at this location numerous times. Allan greeted us warmly. Very attentive. He was excellent. We had a great room. Very roomy. Problem was water saving toilet wouldn't flush. Tried multiple times. Even removed tank cover. Allan very graciously moved us. Upgrade. Fireplace but smaller room. Anyway, i usually pre-clean the room with wipes. When it came to the bathroom door, the wipe turned COMPLETELY BROWN! YUCK!! Your guess is as good as mine what the brown substance was. Allan stated he would inform HK about my discovery. No discount offered by Allan. Next day, was breakfast. "Eggs" were wet. Liquid drained from them. Tossed that in the trash. Tried the hash browns. Literally a heaping glop. Tastless. Tossed in trash. Then gave oatmeal a try. OMG. Horrible. The pancakes were yummy. This they got right because the machine made them. Not a person. The quality of food here was a big failure. Either do it right or don't offer such inferior breakfast. I suggest management serve as quality control and try the food each morning. I asked for a discount on the room before checking out due to the filthy bath door. I offered to bring the dirty wipe for his viewing and to take all the pics he liked. He took pics. Said he can't approve a discount. Only managers do that. I asked for the manager. They will call you. Yeah right. We'll see. Hard to write a negative review because we've always had a positive experience here. The food quality, in particular, has dropped considerably. A filthy door like we had was unacceptable. Advice, eat the pancakes. Wipe every part of the room you touch with sanitizing wipes.

Follow up to response from??? No name. No title who responded. Called the hotel since i hadn't heard from a manager in nearly a week. Was told by Jim, all managers are attending a convention. listed phone number below goes directly to hotel front desk. I just love how management says your terrible experience is our training lesson. Huh! How about a credit for the inconvenience? The terrible food. The...

I wish I could give this location more stars, because the hotel's staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, this place does not have air conditioning in any of the rooms, which is generally no problem during the colder, Winter months. But during the Summer months, unless you've lived in and enjoy the climates of Vietnam, Florida, or the Philippines, the rooms in this hotel from June through September will likely be uncomfortable for you. The tiny ceiling fan in each room merely circulates the warm air. Also, the beds are way too firm, similar to a Sleep Number bed at a setting of 95 or above!

Another unfortunate point, especially for a property of this age, even though the rooms and lobby have been moderately updated, the insulation between the walls are virtually non-existent. Given that, any noises at normal to higher volume levels can easily be heard in the other rooms and most definitely heard from the hallways. What's worse is that noises from the hallway can easily be heard within the rooms.

The breakfast was good with decent selections including hot dishes such as eggs and sausage, but you'd be better off bringing the food back to your room as the breakfast room is rather small to comfortably enjoy breakfast in that area.

The location is good, away from the high-traffic area near Cannery Row, but very easy access to that area as well as Highway 1 and 17-Mile Drive.

Parking is good for cars and SUVs of medium size or smaller, the parking garage is under the hotel rooms and somewhat tight for maneuvering, but would be even more difficult for full-size SUVs, vans,...

We stayed here during my husband’s business trip, and it worked out perfectly for us and our kids. The rooms were extremely clean, and the hotel staff were extremely friendly. I could tell that cleaning staff were very thorough. They were working on renovating the bathrooms while we were staying there, and it never bothered the kids or I while we’d be in and out of the rooms during the day. Our room had not been updated yet, but I can see that the rooms that have come with nice new bathrooms. Beds may have had new mattresses because they were extremely comfortable.

There are a lot of fun extra amenities that made our stay nicer. We loved the yogurt machine, breakfast was included with our stay and was honestly pretty good. The lobby has a nice Nespresso machine which I was able to use for warm drinks for us and the kids.

Be aware there are no microwaves in the room, but that’s not entirely uncommon for Monterey. They have one available for use downstairs, which isn’t too big of an inconvenience. It would be nice if the external stairs had key card entry, but it wasn’t bothersome to walk around to the lobby to get up. The parking garages were not difficult to navigate, and the elevators are conveniently located.

The location is very convenient on Abrego street, being close to many things and to 1, while not being so busy that it’s loud or difficult to get into or out of. All in all, we left our 5 night stay feeling extremely glad we’d...

Disappointing to say the least. The pool is located outside the complex, next to a garage and beside the road, making it unpleasant to stay around. The hot tub was not working when we stayed there. The breakfast is overly crowded. The place is just too small to host that many people, making it disagreeable to eat in. Also, there is no AC in the room and the sound insulation is not great. Beds are okay, and the shower products are great. We also had a power outage around 11PM to 2AM, but that s just unfortunate I guess. Overall this is probably the worst BW I’ve stayed at so far.

TERRIBLE-NO AIR CONDITIONING!!!! For $190 a night I should not be told to open the door of my room to let in some air. That’s what camping is for! Luckily my room was on the second floor. I saw people on the first floor with windows open. How safe is that? There was also a very bright light on the patio that could not be shut off and shined in when curtains were open to let air in. DO NOT STAY HERE.
