My husband and I had a HORRIBLE experience here! And let me tell you why...Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that our room did not have the tub/shower combination that was advertised on the website. The shower we actually received was extremely small, I don’t see how anyone fits comfortably there, and I’m pretty petite myself and I was extremely limited in space showering there. Additionally, the NOISE generated by the refrigerator in the room was INTOLERABLE! We had to unplug the appliance to get some sleep. We were shocked to see that the front door of the room did not shut properly and lacked a safety latch, compromising both our security and peace of mind.
The situation was exacerbated by the behavior of the front desk manager. He assured us that he had spoken to a manager about our concerns and had left detailed notes, but this turned out to be untrue. When we approached the next front desk manager the next day, it became evident that no notes had been left, and our issues had not been communicated.
Moreover, the same front desk manager, first person we spoke to, falsely claimed that no other rooms were available. However, a quick check on the website showed that there were indeed rooms available. This level of dishonesty is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction.
The room itself did not meet basic cleanliness standards. We found hairs on the floor and in the shower, and the towels had an unpleasant odor reminiscent of cheese. Additionally, the room did not match the pictures advertised on your website, which was misleading. So check that carefully when booking!
WAIT! There's more! I contacted customer care to complain about these issues after we left. Guess what our compensation was?? Wyndham rewards points that were equivalent to half of one night's stay!! We payed approximately $420 for two night and they didn't compensate even for one night!! I reached out to customer care and they told me that the compensation came from the hotel itself and could not overstep their decision because it was independently owned. I figured from the experience I had had with them directly this was going to be a completely loss! Beware of this place!! Especially room #202, I would give a negative 10 stars if I could. Read moreI recently stayed here with my husband and son on a quick weekend trip to Monterey. I will admit I booked the hotel last minute and the most recent reviews weren't terrible, and the breakfast pictures looked pretty good. I can tell you though the lobby/eating area looks nothing like the pictures, there is no longer a breakfast buffet. We were told due to COVID they were doing breakfast to-go. Sure that's fine, but what we got were worst that school lunches. The lobby is locked in the morning, so you bang on the door and an employee comes out the side asking how many for breakfast. We got a brown bag with two frozen orange juice cups, a yogurt, a muffin, and apples. A couple that was with us looked in their bag and immediately threw it away. There are a lot of hotels in the same price range that have 'free breakfast' and they actually mean it. Anyways, aside from breakfast not being what we expected our room 305 was not ideal. It shared a wall with the ice machine, which isn't normally a bad thing. However, it made the LOUDEST mechanical hum and it echoed throughout our room. Also, the water pipes come up through the floor by this room and it had a horrible whining nose our entire stay. You know that noise when you leave your garden hose on and use an indoor fixture? It was so extremely loud our 1 year old would wake up every time someone in the building used the water. Definitely frustrating. Also, our room didn't have this issue but on the far end of the building the gas meter made an extremely high pitched squeal so whoever had the rooms next to that, I felt bad for as well. Location is fine, and there's food within walking distance but that's about it...
Read moreI am a truck driver who was searching fot a hotel to stay at in Monterey, California. I called Days Inn ahead of time to ask if they have parking space for a semi truck. The receptionist said there was available space. When I arrived, July 13, he showed me a place on the street near the hotel. He said it was secure. I was given a room where the windows did not face the truck. I stayed for about 12 hours. The next day when I left the hotel, I noticed the fuel level behin to drop drastically. When I checked both tanks, I saw that the tank facing the hotel was empty and the six bolts that keep it tightly shut were unscrewed. About 100 gallons of diesel was pumped out of my truck. This had to take several people to complete to be able to do this. I can't imagine what would happen if I were to go check on it during the night but I know that it would be dangerous and I would surely get harmed. When I called Days Inn, they said they had no surveillanve cameras on that side of the hotel and that they are not responsible for this. I feel that the receptionist was involved in this theft and helped and gave the robber information. The rooms were nice and clean but for one night in this hotel, I lost $400, $100 from the room and $300 from the diesel. I will NEVER return to this hotel and I DO NOT advise other truckers to stay at this particular Days Inn in Monterey, California. On top of that, there was no air conditioning and it was very hot. Very outdated furniture. The coffee maker had a very bad stench and I refused to use it. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. Overall a very bad experience and...
