Owned by a french person with some employees actually speaking french makes this crêperie actually authentic and delicious. You go there for sweet or savory crepes so obviously don't expect much more other than that; apart from onion soup and a few sandwiches for variety.
We had the peach melba sweet crepe which was fantastic. My wife tried the savory brie and smoke salmon crepe which was also pretty good (but not as epic as the melba).
One star taken out because of the coffee. Although they have a complete list of barista favorites, it's not very good... The cappuccino had WAY too much froth (nearly undrinkable) and the flavor was boring.
So a bit hit and miss, but I'm willing to let go of a few imperfections (like the tables being not very clean), then again being french myself and desperately trying to find anything french in California makes me biased...
To be fair, order a peach melba crepe (or customize something since they do it to order) and enjoy the french music ambiance from this little cafe and then move along with your day. It could be perfect with a bit of effort but for what it is, it's...
Read moreThe crepes are delicious but 50 minutes to wait is ridiculous.
No explanation was given for the long wait except "we get really busy at this time". The irritation with that excuse is that this wasn't in the middle of a huge rush where 100 people were inline. We came in when 4 people were already in line ordering and about 3 people at tables waiting.
30 minutes later we overheard another couple with the exact same story. The first response from the establishment wasn't anything polite, but a rude, is your ticket on the line... How would they know if their ticket is on the line? A bunch of words came out of the older gentleman that seemed to be the manager or owner but never a simple, SORRY ABOUT THE WAIT. No one on the staff today seemed like they actually cared about customer service or making people enjoy an experience. We, the paying customer, understand that a restaurant can only prepare so many meals at a time. But, we the paying customer, also just want a simple courtesy to know that someone gives a damn about our time...

In long... 🙃
My friend's, unfortunately, a picky eater. He can't help it, and sometimes, I help him navigate the murky, unknown waters of a new restaurant. Crepes of Brittany has an extensive, delicious sounding menu with relatively well priced items. Most items are under $10 and get pushed over that when you include a few extras such as ice cream, whipped cream or their custom made Melba sauce :D
The cashier taking our order was kind enough to be patient with my friend and was an absolute expert on what the restaurant offered. In the end, I had a Nutella banana crepe with extra whipped cream and a scoop of Vanilla ice cream, while my buddy settled on an Apple Cinnamon plate drizzled with caramel. He left the plate CLEAN.
It's hard finding restaurants that make him finish his plate clean over, but Crepes of Brittany made it happen. So, if you ever had doubts about this place, now's a great time to drop them and head over for a bite -- enjoy~!
Have a picture of tasty...
