How a refrigerator made me lose my love for Home Depot.
First, I have been a loyal HD customer for at least 20yrs and only shop elsewhere when I have to. I took my kids to all their kid workshops and now they are all grown. My average spend is about $20k a year which is not a lot but probably above normal for most. After recently buying a refrigerator from HD I believe that loyalty and love for them has ended.
To start with, I was told by the HD rep in appliances that they price match any online retailer except Amazon. There price could not be a discount and the price had to be verified on the website. I thought cool, so I found Park Ave Appliance. They had the best price but when I shared with the HD rep the website. she pulled it up and verified the price. She then came back and stated to don't honor price match for that type of online retailer. The rep then stated that they had to be a local retailer. So I looked at the local retailers and found a better price at Hahn's. The rep again verified it but also again said HD does not price match Hahn's. Being a little frustrated I still decided to buy the fridge with HD because of my PRO account and it helps me track what my yearly spend is.
I also decided to have them install and haul away the old fridge. HD set up the delivery and everything was good.
The day of install :(. They brought the new fridge in and they had to take the front door off to get it in (understandable). When they went to take the old fridge, the y stated that they could not unhook it because it had a cooper line connected for the water. The cooper line had a shutoff valve installed. I told them I'm not sure why it mattered but I would unhook the line for them. They then stated I had to have a plumper come out to unhook the fridge. I told them I could just remove the line and it would only take a few min. When I went to the garage to get a wrench, they literally ran out the door. They were in such a hurry they didn't put all the pins back in the front door. When I finished unhooking the cooper line, I seen their truck driving away.
I called HD and they acted like it was my fault and then tried to say they don't manage the delivery company. The delivery company is and extension of HD.
Needless to say, I still have the old fridge waiting for...

Nevertheless inside of Home Depot the online info was advertised as having the replacement hot water heater element of mine recently malfunctioned or split or blew up so to speak. People working at the store told me otherwise because none were there once I made it far far away or to them once I got there none there were on the shelf + their ppl workers working there stated their claims too as to the fact that they say it at the Home Depot it says we should it says we do although NO NO NO NO NONO NO FOLDED 3500 watt 240 voltage Hot Water Heating Elements Are Here As You Can Very Well Now Look & JUST LOOK & SEE NOW FOR URSELF none here see On the Shelf or In Store at all now & that They Have or Had Also Been Out of Them Too & Still SO SO WHAT & Yet No Idea Why the On Line Availability States In MOORE Ok & In NORMAN OK the two different towns I live by or in still I had driven actually at least one hour both ways to & from & still was able to buy nothing as well as got absolutely NOTHING for having gone except way way less gasoline for the inside of my gasoline tank inside of my ride & out of my pocket or purse too so to speak the TRUTH I am almost reluctant to value this experience so much as worth one star i d k ppl always say that I always go above & beyond just to treat them so good as well as I know that I always do go anyway over board on treating them so nicely because I simply care so much. You will be amazed at my blessed talent in taking care of things it’s almost like I am much like if u can imagine some guy’s amazing Ripley’s believe it or not. Read moreTurning a 0 star to a 5 star is what separates Home Depot Moore from the rest of the competitors. I had ordered a complete set of new kitchen appliances from Home Depot Moore, Oklahoma that were scheduled for delivery and INSTALLATION from a independent service contracted with Home Depot. The individual that delivered the appliances and was supposed to install them was a disaster full of excuses, refused to install half of the items, then lied to Home Depot about what they had done. I personally went to Home Depot in Moore extremely upset with the events of the morning. I met with Erika and shared my frustration. She then put me in contact with Nason who was the MOD manager on duty today. My anger and frustration was certainly visible and expressed but Nason took control of fixing this situation. I was introduced to HD employee Kevin who said he would be at my house in 45 minutes to correct any problem. 45 minutes later Kevin was there and all appliances were up and running. Kevin and his assistant were prompt, courteous, and took a genuine interest in getting things done correctly. It is easy to write a 5 star review when all things are "wonderful" and it's easy to write a 0 or 1 star review when things go wrong. This 5 star review was written to show that Home Depot of Moore took a 1 star start to a 5 star finish by stepping up and taking care of things in a prompt and professional way. Despite my frustration all employees were professional and accommodating. They did not do the "we will have to reschedule" protocol you get from a lot of other places. They got the job done. And they were on it immediately to get things right. Thank you Nason, Kevin, and Erika at Home Depot of Moore for your quick attention to our dilemma and for your time and consideration. HD of Moore will have all of our future business due to the professionalism and 5 star customer service.
