TL,DR: Food is good but the wait made it feel like it wasn't worth it.
The long review: I ordered in store for take out as I'm in town for work and wanted to just get back to my hotel and relax. My family was hyping this place up so my expectations were very high and I guess that's on me for not setting the bar lower? I ordered a combo cup with rock and krunch, level 2, and a small order of mandoo (pot stickers). The sauce that came with the pot stickers was great. It was the perfect amount of sweet and salty. I decided to eat the pot stickers right away because I know how quickly pot stickers can get cold so the fact they were cold before I even left the parking lot was very disappointing. For the cup. The sauce (level 2) was much spicier than I expected but it was still very good. I just wish there was more sauce to cover the rice, noodles, and cabbage. The meat was great. I really enjoyed the Rock. My biggest complaint is that I waited a very long time and that the people who ordered after I'd already been sitting down waiting, who had a much larger order than mine, got their whole order before I got mine. The place was fairly busy, not packed but also not empty. When I arrived, there were several people waiting and a couple people in front of me. I placed my order at 6:51pm and did not receive my food until 7:36pm. I think the issue is staffing. I saw one lady making food for customers in the front and one lady who was working in the back cooking. When she wasn't cooking, she came to the front to take a couple orders and then went back to the kitchen. I feel like if you're that backed up with orders, you should try to get the food out to customers who are waiting and then take new orders. If I were local to this area, I would give them another chance because I know there's a possibility I got them...
Read moreI've been here once before and it was ok. I didnt know the spice levels real well, but thats on me. So I decided to take my wife there. The young woman who took my order looked like she would rather be anywhere else and the order gets placed and she disappears. Two other people waiting before me. Ok. Cool. Then seemingly out of nowhere, two other women come out of nowhere and start making orders.
This is where things went down hill. The take out orders ahead of us got their food, but all seemingly had to have a little meeting. They got asked if they wanted to substitute something for whatever they were out of. Finally she looks at my wife and I and shouts to the back "Did them people order?" And I knew this was going to be not great.
She walks over to us with the attitude of a trust fund baby who became CEO of a company she didn't want and asks if we want to wait 12 minutes for noodles or a refund. No offer of a substitution or anything. Wait or refund said in a tone that said please take the refund.
I say refund and she just leaves. Walks right to the back where the cashier is. The poor young woman at the counter is standing there like a deer in headlights. The cashier starts processing the refund and then says "that's 7 business days" and I haven't even been in the restaurant 10 minutes. So fair warning, if you're going in here past 7pm, ask what they have before you order, otherwise welcome to the show. I certainly know I...
Read moreThis place has not been here very long but has gone down hill fast. Service is incredibly slow. I am here as I write this. It is not crowded. It has now been over 15 minutes from the purchase time down on my receipt. Others have been waiting longer. Only one person has been served since I came in. They do not appear to have any intention of preparing anyone's food. I just saw two people, who clearly are not going to use the self ordering function, stand at the counter for several minutes while workers walked around refusing to acknowledge them. I feel bad giving a poor review because the food is really good when they do it correctly. Maybe I will update the review if they do better next time. Next time? How can I even think about next time? How can I be sure there will be a "next time" when it is unclear if I will ever actually be able to leave? Last time I was here they did not put any sauce on my order, unfortunately I had taken it "to go" and did not find out till I was home. This is not consistent with CupBop in other states. This is not consistent with how this location operated when they first opened. Get it together CupBop! My food just arrived. 24 minutes. Thanks for staying with me on this journey. Wait... There are no noodles...
