Despite a clean and modern appearance, Lucky Strike in Moorpark fails to meet basic service needs and struggles to provide a enjoyable bowling experience.
To start, there is an extremely limited selection of bowling ball weights and finger hole sizes. Multiple members of our party were caught in the middle with balls that were too light/heavy or too big/small. The pins are organized not with the traditional sweeper method, but instead with pull strings, which limits the pin's movement when the ball strikes. I would not count Lucky Strike as a competitive bowling experience.
Service was abysmal, with no server coming to us for about 10m, despite an advertised "personal server" by the front desk. After ordering on the kiosk, we waited over 30m for our single appetizer plate to arrive, and after a reminder to the server, an additional 10m for our 2 drinks. We ordered a 3rd drink, but that did not arrive for another 30m, and only after 2 seperate reminders to staff. When the milkshake did finally arrive, it was watered down and flavorless. When the server delivered our one plate of finger food (wings, fries, etc), they did not provide any napkins! You would think that napkins is a basic requirement for a combo bowl/eat establishment. Instead, we bowled a frame with the balls slipping off our fingers, and asked the server ourself for napkins the next time they appeared in our area.
The only reason the experience was tolerable was due to a groupon making the total bowling...
Read moreWhat a great concept this is. Loved seeing bowling brought into this century. However looks are only a small part of a successful business and this business is severely lacking in all other areas. The training of employees is severely lacking. Even the managers aren’t trained. There is no cohesiveness to the running of the business. Don’t even try to order food. Our order was well over an hour and they had no idea where it was. Never got all of it in our two hours there. On our third complaint to the managers I was told if I would shut up and leave them alone they could get the orders done. Everyone was rushing around bumping into each other in there and doing nothing. I told them they should not even be open. When I walked away they closed it down. We were told you couldn’t make lane reservations ahead of time when we called and when we got there we were supposed to have made reservations. Lack of communication throughout. You can’t order food on the app and when food comes they don’t know where to deliver it. If I were a bowler there I wouldn’t be pleased with the situation either. Just by observation there were so many spills that if you went off the lane onto the floor you better take your shoes off or you will ruin them. Overall they should have done some soft launch opening. It was real obvious that wasn’t done. All of the parts did not work well together. Hopefully they will get it together because it could be good. But for our party of 10 it...
Read moreMy gf and I ordered food on the mid tables we realized there is no waiter that came to us it was the bartender Natasha she was really helpful with everything. The food highly recommend we got it pretty fast and hot. The QR code does not register with the tables do not order with it. We heard from other tables around us ordered from the QR and they are missing orders and took payment BEAWARE.
We noticed that the only person doing everything was bartender Natasha she’s amazing she’s serving drinks and taking food orders, and doing customer service!!
Then there was the floor manager I hear a lot of smack talk between workers that John is lacking or hiding (saying he’s on his seat again).
(The photo is what they meant)
After observing for a while a group of guys that John knew he would go hangout with them for a little while. Then kept walking by the kiosk center and just stand there talking to other workers.
Also a lot of young staff kept spraying screens of the kiosk center and not the rag Along with the windows of the arcade. Please Teach these younglings that!
Overall I give it a C+ only because Natasha was great to us. In our opinion she should...
