Terrible.... I mean the absolute worst customer service experience I have had in my life. I came in after a workout so I know that my appearance was not at its best and I had my one year old in her stroller. I was looking for a birthday gift and this place looked absolutely adorable from the outside. I love supporting local businesses and always buy gifts from small local shops or Etsy as I own several local businesses myself. As soon as I entered the shop, a female sales associate with dark brown curly hair brushed passed me making eye contact with me. I smiled and said āHelloā. She ignored me and walked right by me. I was the only customer in the store. I was looking around and she followed closely behind me without saying anything. This store is very beautiful and does have a wonderful collection of gifts and home decor so I spent my time taking it all in. There was a higher end piece of wall art that I was considering for one of my businesses. I found a beautiful bracelet that was made by Children and women in Africa and it said that money was donated back to them so i decided to purchase it as a gift for my friend. I took it up to the checkout counter with the intention to also inquire about the wall art. Two older sales women were up there talking about their recent sales and customers. One of them mentioned how āwhenever Mrs so & so comes in she will drop what she is doing because she is made of money and never spends less then 10 grandā and was showing off her recent transaction to her coworker. I said ā Helloā and she turned around to look at me and then walked away. The other Sales Lady came over to me and apologized. She said āIām so sorry we didnāt mean to ignore you we were working on the computerā. When I handed her the bracelet she said āIs that all?ā At this point I felt as if I had been financially and possibly racially profiled (Iām Italian but Iām brown with very dark features) and just wanted to get out of this store as quickly as I could. So to sum it up Beautiful Store with a wonderful selection of gorgeous gifts and Home Decor but itās staffed with judgy, rude, Sales Women who are trying to sum up your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am compelled to write this review because today is Small Business Saturday, and I typically buy Christmas gifts from the Ivy Cottage on this day. There is no question that the items are great and unique; however, the customer service, namely from the owner, is TERRIBLE. As someone else mentioned, I too had never been treated so rudely. I have shopped in expensive places in various parts of the US and abroad, and never have I had someone use such a horrible tone with me, especially when purchasing hundreds of dollars of merchandise from their boutique. It was very shocking as I had been there many times previously and the employees had been very courteous. What precipitated this ordeal? I asked politely if I could have one of the many tea lights that was on display in the store to accompany a beautiful angel candle that I had purchased. The associate was very nice and went to get the owner (Lisa, I believe...). She said no. I then explained that I was in a hurry and really needed the tea light to complete the gift ensemble that I was on my way to deliver. I then offered to pay an extra $5 for a less than $1 tea light! The owner went off about how she couldn't do it and was just ugly. I promise you, she would not have missed the one tealight! My mother uses the phrase, "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face", and I feel as if I may be doing just that, where I like the merchandise and this place was recommended by a wonderful neighbor who is no longer with us and going there brings back fond memories of her. However, I will not sacrifice my dignity or support anyone who demonstrates such a lack of respect for others. She's not perfect and may have had a bad day like many of us have had, but it must have been a VERY bad day because her attitude...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a super cute store, however all sales are final for holiday items and much of the Christmas decor you can find elsewhere for less. I fell in love with a large Illume cedar & balsam 40 oz radiant glass candle marked $69.99 and the same candle is on Amazon for $44.82. If money is no object pull the trigger and buy here. If you want to save a little, whatever you love-Google/Amazon first! Also, make sure everything you buy is in your bags. They offer complementary gift wrapping (tissue paper and bags) but I purchased three different sizes of something and they packaged up two and I saw one still hanging back on the counter after I paid. My mom had already packed up the car, but I was curious to know if the straggler was one I paid for or just coincidence. The employee followed me out to my car and compared the receipt to what was in the bags and sure enough it was one I paid for but never put in my bags. All-in-all such a cute little store specially if you like pink color-scheme...
