Chai Fresh (formerly Bapu Fresh) is an innovative milk tea cafe that I'd describe as an Indian version of Quickly, with an impressive menu offering a unique selection of milk teas, specialty drinks, sharbaths, mojitos, various Indian snacks, and tasty appetizers.
When we entered Chai Fresh for the first time, there was one employee in front who saw us come in, but he didn't seem to acknowledge our presence. I asked him what Mango Falooda Drink ($8+) was; I didn't quite understand what he said but I ordered that anyway because I wanted to try something I would not find in a typical milk tea cafe. I also ordered 1 Chili Garlic Chicken ($14), and the server warned me that it's spicy. I told him that's fine since I enjoy spicy food. Order came up to be $23+. My girl didn't get any because she already got her iced coffee from SharedTea.
Order took about 10 min. to arrive, which seemed reasonable. The cafe looks small but pretty chill and casual enough for a casual snack & tea. There were board games for customers to play but no one was using them. There's upbeat Indian music playing. The floors clearly needed mopping.
Here are my thoughts on my 2 orders from Chai Fresh:
Mango Falooda - I've never tasted this kind of special drink before. It's similar and as deliciously rich as mango lassi but in a different level, with more ingredients like silky vermicelli noodles, basil seeds, a scoop of ice cream, mango pulp & creamy milk. This was such a luscious dessert, and I'm not sure what to think about the vermicelli in this drink, but it's not bad. It tasted healthy and fresh.
Chili Garlic Chicken - I asked for it to be served on a take out box because I knew that I didn't intend to finish all of it while dining in here. I have mixed feelings about this food, which is under Chai Fresh's "Appetizers & Meals" category. It was served in a small, round take out container, with just chicken pieces, garlic, chili, bits of bell peppers, and spices that make it well...spicy. The chicken pieces were expertly marinated, and it's truly a satisfying fusion of heat and zest.
The little amount of chicken disappointed me. I expected more after seeing the photo in the menu. It would be fine if there's a side of basmati rice, naan, or samosa that came with it, but there was none. Would I order this again? Most likely but not as often as I'd like.
My girl tasted the chicken, but she said it was too spicy for her, but I enjoyed it in the cafe and at home, where I devoured it all. She also thought the Mango Falooda was weird because of the vermicelli but she seemed to enjoy its creaminess.
Honestly, I felt conflicted when I asked myself if we'd return to Chai Fresh. I wanted to love this place because it's an innovative milktea cafe that offers tasty snacks and unique drinks you won't find in most other milk tea places, and that's probably because of its strong Indian influences.
There's a lot of other snacks I want to try from Chai Fresh, such as Onion Samosas, Paneer Momos & Paneer Chili Momos. They also have cauliflower bites for vegetarians. Who cares about their grilled cheese sandwiches or noodles though? I guess some kids would enjoy the former.
Ultimately, the decision to return would come down to whether or not I'd be willing to spend $20 or more for a special drink and small plate of chicken again. That $20+ price range can buy 2 lamb & chicken over rice from the Tasty Halal Eats food truck nearby, and that choice would probably be more satisfying to me than a small serving of Chili Garlic Chicken.

I tried quite few snacks here, and they were all really good. Punugulu, Masala Vada, Samsoa and Mirchi Bajji were amazing. Everything was super fresh, not frozen which made a big difference. Also, the chutneys were tasty too.
If you’re a dosa fan, you should try the Mysore Masala Dosa. It's my favorite..😋 The dosa is crispy and the filling is just perfect. The place itself is really nice too. I also got some snacks to go, and their packaging is good quality, keeping the food fresh and intact.
