I really like Mound True Value. It is so hard for places like this to compete with the big box retailers and although many people will say the way to compete is with service, putting that idea into reality can often fall flat for a small business. But not at Mount True Value. I have CONSISTENTLY had quick service, tips, and everyone I have talked to there find ways to do the little things right. I'm not sure if it is in their training, or they just hire people with good soft skills, or both. But, if you have a question about a tool or are looking for an obscure item - it seems one of their employees will appear out of nowhere to instinctively help you. And, they won't just vaguely point you toward a numbered aisle, they will TAKE YOU RIGHT TO THE ITEM YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. Favorite local hardware store with fantastic customer service from their managers and staff. Their inventory will cover most building and landscaping projects.

The best thing about this True Value is the staff. They are small-town friendly and far more knowledgeable about the industry and their products than you will ever find at the big box competitors. So nice to have someone discuss projects with you to help determine the best products, then lead you directly there.

I'm appalled at how the staff treated my father when he checked out with a valid, official Ace Hardware coupon. With an entire crowd of customers waiting behind him at the register the cashiers and staff dropped what they were doing to publicly ridicule and accuse him of being a fraud artist. If that kind of abysmal treatment is what you consider customer service then you won't be seeing him or myself ever again. You've lost a frequent customer who shopped here from the day the store opened.
