Mi Pueblo Express - Mound — Restaurant in Mound

Never order take-out from this establishment: when I did, I order the "Chimichanga" dinner - having chosen shredded chicken of the 2 choices offered: shredded chicken or shredded beef. I also ordered the "3 pork tamales" and sides. First, only TWO tamales arrived, and one was 1/2 the size of the other, so really only 1/2 of the order arrived at my door. I immediately called to request compensation, (it's an ELEVEN DOLLAR item) and, though they granted the compensation, they had no intention of doing so until I called. Then, upon finally settling down to eat, I found that neither of the 2 chimichangas were shredded chicken, (as ordered) OR shredded beef. (The only other option) No, they were both ground beef. (hamburger) I cant eat ground beef for dentition reasons, so both chimichangas were thrown away. By that time, of course, they since closed for the night, so I was unable to reach out to them. Suffice it to say, they're just going to send you whatever THEY choose to, regardless of your order, and then wait to see if you bother to complain before doing anything about it. This was nearly a $40 order, and it didn't even come close....

Ordered the Nachos Supreme. They told us it was enough to share with 3 people. It came on a small rectangle plate and there was no way there was enough for the 3 of us let alone 1 person. There was probably less than a couple dozen chips and It was really expensive and the distribution of the topping was not done well. The chicken was on one side and another topping was in the middle and another topping was on the other side. The flavor was so so. After most everything was gone there was a bunch of watery sauce in the bottom of the plate (yuck!) Everything else on the small menu is very expensive. We spent around $20 with one soda. I really enjoy Mexican food, and I anguished over restaurant choices in the area. I liked what I saw and the reviews and decided to go. What a treat. By all accounts this was a home run of a restaurant selection. The food was great, we enjoyed fajitas tacos chips and salsa and queso with flour tortillas. Excellent. If I'm back in the area I will definitely go here. In addition to the great food, the service was above expectations. Our waiter was courteous and kind, always smiling, and happy to please.
