We have visited the Mt Orab Tire Discounters a few times in the past year for flat tire repairs, an oil change, and to have new tires put on one of our vehicles. Each visit was fine, with no real issues and reasonable service...until our last visit. Our older vehicle had a flat tire and was also having trouble with the battery not starting if not started for a few days. Our regular mechanic does not work on tires, so we decided to take the car to Tire Discounters figuring they could take care of both issues in one trip. We ended up having the vehicle towed to Tire Discounters since the spare would not hold air. We called several times to tell them we needed the following issues addressed; rear flat tire, spare tire not holding air, cable that holds spare stuck hanging down, and a dead battery. We received a call back giving us pricing on replacing the two rear tires. I was surprised to not have anyone suggest rotating the front to the rear and replacing the front. We were also told that they would need to charge the battery to run their diagnostics. We were planning on picking the car up as soon as it was ready. We waited, and waited, and waited...no call. We finally called Tire Discounters at 6:30 for an update, knowing that they close at 7, and were told, "Oh yeah, it's been done." We asked about the starting/battery issue and were told "everything tested fine." We also asked about the bad spare and the cable hanging down. The response was that they just threw the bad spare into the back of the car and the cable was left hanging, nothing had been done. When we told them we could not drive the vehicle like that, they said they would cut the cable off, which they did. We arrived at 7:05 to pick up the vehicle and I was surprised to find the place completely vacant. I would have thought at least one person would still be there, finishing up on something. This might explain the lack of service or concern for our vehicle, assuming the employees just wanted to leave on time on a Friday. The key was left in the vehicle, as promised, but when I attempted to start the vehicle, the battery was dead. After three tries, it finally started, but it seemed much worse than it had been before Tire Discounters. We called our regular mechanic, jump started the vehicle, and took it to his shop. His diagnosis, the vehicle needed a new battery. He had replaced the battery less than two years ago and he said it should be under warranty, until he found that it is NOT the same battery or brand that he installed. This vehicle has only been to two shops, this mechanic (who does not even sell the brand of switched battery) and Tire Discounters. We gave Tire Discounters the benefit of the doubt, assuming that it was a legit mistake since they originally made it sound like they would be removing the battery for charging and testing. We called and spoke to the manager, who denies that they ever had the battery out of the vehicle. We mentioned how unhappy we were with the service we received, but there was no concern at all for the situation from the manager. So, we are now out the warranty on the bad battery since somehow, somewhere it was "magically" switched with another battery. Not even counting the mysterious switched battery issue, the service at Tire Discounters was so beyond unacceptable and incompetent, leaving a cable dangle underneath the vehicle, putting a bad/rusty spare into the back of the vehicle without even asking what we wanted done with it, no communication at all (even to tell us they were done), not being able to diagnose a simple dead battery, and a manager who thinks this is acceptable service. I would never go back to this store for anything. If I got a flat in front of this store, I would pay to have my vehicle towed before...
Read moreUnfortunately my observation of this particular store has changed a great deal in an absolute negative direction! Being my first ever google review I intend to keep this very objective. I went in for one service came out fully paid for another only learning of upon my departure seeing as my car was doing the exact same stuff still. So upon my return, the owner was disturbed that I was disturbed, he’s entitled to his feelings but I as the paying customer am not. I can say so much subjectively but again objectively as possible! After another look at my vehicle I was told they can’t find the problem I brought it in for but because I said okay to the work they said would initially FIX it I’m better off to take it to a dealer, hire a lawyer, and never bring my car back. They admitted to all concerns and issues with regard to the whole matter at hand yet had zero tolerance for my being there to correct it or anything. That said, I won’t be back but I don’t need to be. I begged the owner for some compromise but the best he had was for me to hire my lawyer. I truly wish I didn’t have to do this review but frankly it’s only here for your viewing so you know to arrive knowledgeable and cautious! Human error, intentional fraud, lying by omission, intention to help gone bad, whatever the scenario I’m most concerned in the ownership and his unwillingness to right a wrong! The integrity of the store based on my experience has vanished and now it’s anything for a buck! As a consumer I have the right to be informed and that was infringed upon and I fully intend to follow through in hopes of betterment of others and safety and financial support for the...
Read moreFound a screw in my tire, so I stopped in to the Mt. Orab location. Couldn't be patched/plugged so had to purchase a new tire. Didn't have in stock so had to wait until the following day - no big deal. They got it installed - picked it up and paid. Got home and realized they had overcharged me. Charged me for tire repair on top of the new tire and install. Called and they were quick to admit their mistake and said they would request a refund through corporate - could take up to two weeks to see the refund. This is a bit ridiculous. It was only $35, but you make a mistake and I have to wait that long for my refund?? Wake up the next morning and the new tire is not holding pressure. So had to go back to the store for them to fix the issue. Never heard what the issue was, but I am guessing it was lack of cleaning the wheel prior to install, so it didn't seal properly. Again, not a huge deal...but when you go to Tire Discounters you expect the job to be done correctly. I had to take additional time away from work to go back a second time. Should have also refunded me the labor from the prior day since they clearly didn't perform the labor in a satisfactory manner. In the past twelve months I had taken another vehicle to this location and had to bring it back the next day for the work to be redone correctly. Just irritating that they can't do it write the first time. Overall, they are friendly and get the work completed quickly - maybe too quickly. Slow down and get it right...
