GiGi Nail Spa — Local services in Mount Pleasant

This review is honestly difficult to rate because the manicure and pedicure experiences were so different all in the same visit. The pedicure experience was not the best I’ve had. I got the royal pedicure and my sister got the basic pedicure but as they were completed side by side we were both questioning what I paid extra for. The technicians doing our pedicures were visibly upset we didn’t want to upgrade to gel polish and it felt they tried to trick us into it after saying no several times and having picked out our bottles or regular polish they handed use books of gel colors, didn’t answer when I asked if it was for gel told us to pick one and walked away. It was also a bit upsetting that I had shown the first technician the design I wanted and that I didn’t want gel and it wasn’t explained that they won’t do nail art with regular polish anymore (due to it being far more difficult to correct mistakes) until after my acrylics were on for my manicure. However luckily I got a different technician for my manicure who was really nice, did a good job, and gave us a small discount for it not being clearly explained initially and we ultimately ended up upgrading to gel. I didn’t get a picture of the finished pedicure but felt it was done messily, the technician seemed upset, spent far more time massaging one leg than the other and paid almost no attention to my calluses. I went here for a simple full set of acrylics… I’m not usually a picky customer, if thing are a little off i just let it go…but i left feeling very upset. My nail tech was rushing the process, all of my acrylics were slanted and none of them were the same length. I asked them if they would please fix them and even them out a bit and I got a slight attitude. After that they pained my nails told me to sit and then came back around felt to make sure they were dry and told me to come pay . I did and they were in fact not dry. So we repeated this process again and they painted once more. They left me at the nail dryer and when i pulled Out my nails you can see all of the brush marks through the polish. This is unacceptable, I walked out so upset. Getting your nails done is not cheap now a days and I understand that the shop is busy but if I’m paying 40 bucks for my nails done with 20% tip I expect a good final product. I do not know how this place has 4 stars. I have never had a worse experience in my life. Me and my sister went today and both of us are shocked how bad our nails turned out. I have been getting acrylic nails for 10 years now and I have never experienced something like this. I asked for a fill and he didn’t even fill in the side of my nails and they are already lifting and I just left the salon 10 minutes ago. I can bend my nail because he didn’t even do anything to the top of my nails...only applied the acrylic to the cuticles instead of the whole nail like they should. Not to mention he did not even smooth out the acrylic and my nails are completely jagged. Me and my sister were out in 15-20 minutes when it should of taken 40-45.
