I have eaten thousands Chinese buffets in the past two decades. This particular restaurant I have been to every other week for over 12 years. I usually alternate between this one and China one buffet on a weekly basis. Great Wall buffet is about average quality among all chinese buffet. One big plus thing is they put new stuff out fairly quickly due to higher traffic volume. Food tends to be fresher. Like the shrimp there. Fried chickens are also good. Beef cooking method and flavor needs to be improved. Otherwise, the food quality has been quite consistent over the past decade. Overtime they slowly raised the price (from $6 to $7, $9, and now $10.60 for regular lunch include tax before tips). The dinner and Sunday meals prices are now $13.35 include tax before tips). They also dropped Sushi completely a few years ago. A year go, they also replaced fried chicken wings with fried chicken legs. It has limited variety of food. Only 3 tables as compare to other Chinese buffet that has 6 or 7 tables. The Chinese buffet in Battle creek cost less and have more variety including Sushi. Overall, typical average buffet on a high end of price. Not much choices here in Central Michigan. Update June 2023: chicken wings came back. Regular lunch price was raised again to $10.99 before tax/tips. For this price, there are many other places offer better food, sushi/hibachi grill, etc.

Maybe just bad timing since we came in just before dinner hours ... some dishes were almost empty and some kinda cold-ish ... but there were employees switching out the different dishes for hot fresh ones... like literally end of lunch start of dinner hours ... anyways not mearly a bad review, just bad timing on our part... 🙃 but I will, however, say we had things come up missing from our vehicle during the duration of our meal here... * we didn't file a police report over it,* but people should be aware 😉 and always remember to lock up your car. Don't forget like we did... On the bonus side, my cookie had 2 fortunes... 🙌🥠

The food selection for a Chinese buffet is great. Lot's to choose from. Many staple chinese dishes and other non-chinese options as well. The service here is nice. Refills are prompt as well as clearing of dirty dishes. The atmosphere is OK. It could use some updating. It is clean and comfortable. There is plenty of space to dine. The music could be more present. Overall, I would recommend the Great Wall Buffet.

I'm being a bit ruthless, and probably a bit petty here, but I love this restaurant so much, and the way things have gone have infuriated me quite a bit and it's getting to be a bit ridiculous. I always get the buffet to go because im always on the go and thats how i eat my food, along with my girlfriend. The buffet to go for the both us together is about 28 or 29 dollars. So about 14 or so per person. It used to be about 12 or 13 (this is dinner prices). You get a box and you can ask for a bowl as well. The option is there. Now, first like I said, prices have gone up. This is annoying but that's how everything is now so I understand. Second they have smaller boxes now, meaning less food. So shrinkflation plus higher cost. That's getting kinda bad but then the thing that angers me the most, the final issue is that now they say the bowls are soup only. Now, I asked specifically if rice could at least be allowed and they said no. That is ridiculous. Rice is extremely cheap, probably cheaper than the soup so why is it suddenly a problem to put my rice in the bowl? I love their food and it's such a shame they've gone downhill like this and sure this may seem petty, but come on, it's rice. I kinda understand not allowing meat or whatever but it's rice!!!! So that's why it's one star for me now. Probably a bit overkill but I'm paying for the food, and if they don't want people putting food in it then why bother with the bowl...

We went to this restaurant on Sunday, Nov 19, 2023. There were 10 of us in our party. We were sat quickly and anxious to eat. My daughter, who is 21 years old, was filling a bowl with sweet and sour sauce when the bowl slipped and the sauce went all over her hand. She immediately started wiping it off saying ‘it’s burning me!’ I immediately went to her and helped get the rest of the sauce off. We went into the bathroom and I looked at her hand. It was red and my daughter was crying in pain. I ran to find an employee to see if they had a first aid kit and some burn cream. The employee I spoke with said they didn’t have a first aid kit, the only thing she offered was ice. I told her that you should never put ice on a burn!!! At this point I was furious!! I quickly went to the Walgreens down the street and purchased first aid supplies. I returned to the restaurant to tend to my daughter. Not one time did anyone from the restaurant ask how my daughter was or offer to help. I was extremely angry at this point. Isn’t every restaurant required to have a first aid kit?? Why was the sweet and sour sauce so hot it burned skin?? Needless to say we will not return to this restaurant. I caution anyone eating here to be careful and be warned that if first aid is needed, this restaurant does not have any...
