I booked at Polished for eyelash extensions for my upcoming wedding. I wanted to do a test run a couple weeks before the wedding to make sure I wasn't allergic etc. The front desk called to confirm my appt and at that time I asked if there was anything I needed to do to prep for it. They said no. I came a day or two later and got them done. The gal who did them was very sweet but did mention that the front desk should have told me that I shouldn't have worn eye makeup. They looked great and I headed home. Unfortunately, the following morning they had all fallen off minus about 10 individual lashes. I called first thing the next day to let them know. I was assuming they would give me a refund since they were literally on for less than 24 hours (Keep in mind they were 190.00). They told me I needed another appointment to talk about it and got me in about a week later.
I went in I talked to the same tech who put them on and she said it was probably due to my mascara and again mentioned the front desk and that they should have a talk about it. She offered me the same service at no cost. Again, she was sweet. Unfortunately, I didn't want to get them again because I was nervous if they fell out again I would loose some of my own lashes (some had fallen out when the first attempt didn't work) and I didn't want to risk that with my wedding now only a couple weeks away. She then offered a lift and tint. I couldn't get that because I had just gotten some microblading done and the heat mask could compromise that. At that point I left and just called the manager and left a message to see if I could proceed with a straight refund.
A week and a half went by and no call. I called 2 times to see if they had given her my message. She finally called back about 10 days later and said all they could do for me was offer the same service. I explained that I didn't want to risk my own lashes falling out again and that the only reason I was getting them done was for my wedding. She said she had no authority to offer that and I would have to talk to the owner. I, of course, asked to have the owner call me.
It took the owner over a week to call back. When she (Erica) finally did, she was extremely rude and unapologetic to say the least. At that point I told her I would meet her half way and take a refund by gift certificate to to Polished to get a pedicure etc. I thought I was being nice. She said no , that she already had to pay the tech and that I was lucky to even be offered the eyelashes to be done over. I thought ... isn't that the sometimes the breaks of having a business? Should I be out the $190.00 bucks because of the front desk not giving me the proper instructions to begin with? Should I be out that money because she had to pay her employee who's service didn't work for me? Just ridiculous.
I was floored. I could't believe the level of unprofessionalism. I wish the establishment good luck keeping their doors open with this...
Read moreI waited 2 months for a pedicure I never received. My daughter and I were going on vacation and we had appointments booked at the same time. We arrived early and they sat us both so we could soak our feet. My daughters pedicure started on time and her tech was super nice and friendly. My appointment never started because my tech was too busy chatting with her previous client... 20 minutes into MY appointment time. No one ever came up and apologized for the delay, asked if I needed to change the service to a shorter one or even offer to have another tech get started on me. There was another tech sitting there playing on her phone the whole time I was there and she could have at least started the service and I would have tipped her nicely. Instead, I sat there for 20 min and finally got so mad, I told them to cancel my appiuntment. They didn't even care. No apology, no nothing. The tech I was supposed to have only said "that happens sometimes." I'm a widow. My husband died very suddenly at the end of January and all I wanted was to have someone paint my toes other than me. To have something nice done for me after everything I've been through. These people don't care about their clients or their client's experience at their "beauty bar". Most of the techs and receptionist looked like thet rolled out of bed and went to work. Then they had a 11 or 12 year old "cleaning" the pedicure tubs and she barely even cleaned them as I was sitting there watching her when I should have been getting a pedicure. I worked at a spa for many years as a concierge. This is not how clients should be treated whether they are paying cash or with a gift card. This place needs some customer service classes and maybe a visit for the health inspector. Spend your money elsewhere, this place is trash and so are the...
Read moreI booked appointments for myself and a few members of my bridal party for nail services the day before my wedding (I was the bride). I made these appointments in January for my October wedding. All of the other ladies with appointments were seated and services started on time except for me. My service technician was late by 30 minutes, and mind you I have a rehearsal to get to that afternoon. Absolutely unacceptable for someone to be 30 minutes late when Iâm paying top dollar for services. Someone in my group had to speak up to the staff to have them stop their service to start my services as the bride. Unacceptable that someone had to start and stop their service because the salon cannot manage their staff. The salon manager was extremely rude and confrontational, offering nothing but an apology even though this is the day before my wedding and I left 30 minutes late, rushing for my next wedding related appointment. On top of that, one of the staff members decided to intrude in the conversation with the manager and started screaming at us that sheâs pregnant and doesnât want to deal with us. Unacceptable and unprofessional behavior.
Above all, I asked for the owner to contact me to discuss this awful experience. Itâs been 2.5 weeks and I still havenât heard from her. This place is not cheap to begin with, but they lovingly add a $5 Covid PPE fee to all customers even though we come in wearing our own PPE in the midst of a pandemic and accommodating state orders.
I will never return to this salon and I was a loyal customer for a few years. Itâs a honest shame that this salon has gone down the tubes. I would not recommend anybody to go here especially any brides looking to celebrate with their bridal party before...
