I am one of those people who really likes writing reviews. I write for a living, so I could chaulk it up to that, or maybe it's an arrogance thing where I feel it's important to share my opinion with others. Who knows! But I have quite an opinion to share for Sarah's Bridal Gallery:
I was prepared to drive to a city, like Chicago, to go wedding dress shopping. People from Chicago should be driving to Mt. Pleasant. It was the perfect blend of professional feel with small town charm and custom, quality customer service.
Sarah's Bridal Gallery exceeded my expectations in every way. On my first visit, I definitely felt overwhelmed. I didn't have a budget, because I didn't know what to expect. I had never worn a bridal gown. The last gown I wore was for senior prom 10 years ago, and goodness knows my taste (and my hips) have changed since.
I was greeted by Allivia who put me at ease. She picked up on my style right away and chose gorgeous dresses for me to try. I felt beautiful in all of them (which made my decision so much harder) but she clearly knows how to capture style and select flattering ideas. (For anyone concerned about discretion in the dressing room, Allivia would have her back to me while I changed and hand me a new dress to step into, and turn around only when I was ready). By the end of the 3 appointments I made at SBG, I was asking my mom if it would be appropriate to invite Allivia to the wedding. She was a pleasure to work and felt like a friend, totally comfortable, and super fun to chat with through-out. At the end of my 2nd appointment (the one where I bought my amazing boho princess dress), Allivia stayed an hour past closing to help me make a decision. Her support was amazing.
The space, dress selection, and prices were also right on point. There are beautiful options regardless of whether or not your shopping on a small budget. (Many dresses can be paid for in increments, not all up front, which also helps). I expected a smaller boutique, but was quite impressed with all the available wedding gown options - not to mention and entire upstairs floor dedicated to prom, pageants, bridesmaid dresses, and a small room for tuxedo's. I even ended up buying a couple bridesmaid dress for myself for other events, and my mom found a simple, beautiful mother-of-the-bride dress. The area to try on dresses has a little seating area for guests, and a lovely 3 way mirror and pedestal. It was clean and simple and inviting.
I've referred SBG to 3 of my friends already, and 2 of them have made appointments based on my rave word-of-mouth review. Definitely make sure Sarah's Bridal is on your list for your gown-needs, you will not be disappointed!
PS - Allivia, if you're reading this, sorry for spelling your name wrong, but thank you for everything! You made me feel so special. I can't believe I'm...
Read moreWe recently purchased a prom dress from Sarah’s Bridal for my daughter, and our experience has been nothing short of disappointing. We found the dress online and it felt like destiny was on our side when we discovered they had exactly one left in-store in and in my daughter's size. Despite us living in a different state, they were willing to package and ship it. Unfortunately, this excitement quickly turned into frustration.
When the dress arrived, we were dismayed to find that the sleeves, zipper, and skirt clasps were all completely broken. This was incredibly disheartening, especially since none of these defects were communicated to us when ordering directly with the store by phone.
Upon contacting the store, we were met with a lack of support and an unwillingness to resolve the issue. We were informed that all sales were final but maybe we could refund $30, leaving us with a faulty dress and no support from the store.
To make matters worse, the cost of getting the dress repaired locally is quite high. Living more than two hours away from the nearest metropolitan area, it's impractical for us to travel to get the dress fixed before prom.
This experience has been incredibly stressful and disappointing, and I would urge others to exercise caution when considering purchasing from Sarah’s Bridal if you are not able to inspect the dress in person before ordering. The lack of accountability and customer service has left us scrambling to find a solution for a dress that was supposed to make my daughter's prom a...
Read moreI cannot say enough great things. This place is gorgeous and we got the whol bridal room to ourselves. They let my crew pick out some things and also listened to what I wanted as well. My consultant made me feel comfortable and listened to what I wanted. I ordered my dress! Well later I saw another dress I had picked out before I went shopping for a dress. They didn’t have it in stock at the time but got it in about a month later. I had to try it! I just had to be sure of my choice. They let me come in on a Saturday (the next day) to try it on. Well I fell in love! I was in a dilemma now. BUT they were totally awesome about the whole situation because I feeling like a pain in the butt at this point. They were totally understanding! Made me feel I had to try it as well! They were able to change my order and get my dream dress with no issues at all! I can’t say enough good things. They are just outstanding and they understand this is your day and you should get what you want! I am just so thrilled ! Everyone please go here! Don’t mess around with these corporate places. This is a small business willing to please and deserve every bit of your business! I feel if i were in this situation anywhere else it wouldve...
