Northwest Fine Furnishings — Local services in Mount Vernon

I truly wish I could give this business 5 stars, because they have nice quality wood furniture at prices that won't break the bank. But the customer service has been abysmal and, in my opinion, dishonest. In May 2024 I purchased 4 chairs; there were 3 in stock that matched exactly and a 4th that was close but slightly different. The owner, Lyle, said I could take home the mismatched chair in addition to the matching 3. He said he would order more of the style/color of the 3 that matched, and I could exchange the mismatched chair when the order came in. So far, so good. This was supposed to take 2-4 weeks, according to Lyle. 2-4 weeks came and went with no word. Over the next few months I called the store several times to check status and spoke with his employee, who said that only Lyle could get updates on the chair order and that I was not the only customer frustrated with the long wait and lack of communication regarding an order. Not once did Lyle reach out to me with an update. I went into the store in person at the end of August (3 1/2 months after the chairs were supposedly ordered). Lyle told me, "they should be here by this time next week". I said, "you'll call when they're in?" "Yes." Uh huh. It's now the third week of October and there has been no call. I don't anticipate ever getting a 4th chair that matches and based on my experience I would not recommend this...

This is an eclectic furniture store with quality furniture and home accessories. I loved it the moment I stepped in the door!! It is full to the top with lots of quality furniture at reasonable price points. The owner Lyle, is a shop owner who is there to please and help you find what it is you need. He is very knowledgeable and is a very friendly. He made our shopping experience fun and enjoyable!! Our shopping experience was SO much better than walking into a big box store. We walked in looking for a table. We left with our table and ordered two chairs and an ottoman. I left feeling happy and not frustrated as I would have been if I had shopped a big box...

The owner is really nice and helpful. I like that this place is not like other furniture stores- the furniture is stacked (protected, of course) & packed in there so that they can maximize the selection and minimize the prices. If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, he has catalogs and can order anything and have it within a week. I really recommend checking...
