Grocery Outlet — Local services in Mount Vernon

I've shopped here once or twice in the past, but not for a lot of groceries. Since then, I've gone on a serious shopping trip for groceries there. First off, the selection is somewhat limited, but it's generally a good selection. I was unable to find everything I wanted/needed. I did find a lot items I needed despite not being able to find everything I needed. The prices are phenomenal. I filled a full size grocery cart for less than one hundred dollars ($93 to be exact). When I saw the receipt I could not believe my eyes. On a $93 purchase I saved a total of $77!!! That is truly amazing! Needless to say, I'll be going back again. Overall, the store is clean, a slight bit cluttered due to the amount of stock on the floor (which generally doesn't stay around long). The staff are very friendly and helpful. Also, as everyone asks, there is a public restroom (you have to inquire at a register so they can have it unlocked). Checkout was very quick, and the checkers are very responsive to customer needs and requests when it comes to bagging and or boxing your groceries. If your looking for a place in Mount Vernon to save money on a good portion, if not all of your groceries, I would recommend making at least one trip to Grocery Outlet and see for yourself. Horrible store. First of all they claim to have lower prices but the daily things you buy like milk and coffee and cereal is all the same price or higher. Higher on a lot of the everyday things you need but the things that are cheaper are brands that don’t sell like certain flavors of soup or cereal or etc., etc. when they don’t sell the supermarkets ship it off to grocery outlet and yes, you get a slight discount but a discount on stuff that people don’t usually buy and you just buy it because you think it’s cheaper. Plus the quality is horrible. I bought Honeycrisp apples, which I love and they were a little soft but a bag that I felt that had some harder ones I bought it and they were horrible apples nowhere near the Honeycrisp I buy at my local grocery store then I bought avocados and they didn’t Ripen at all they just got nasty and I was so disappointed with the food I bought there. I love the Grocery Outlet in Mount Vernon, WA is the best. Clean, well stocked with almost all your shopping needs. This covers so many things in addition to groceries, household items from sheets to cookware. Wonderful selection of wines to choose from. Very adequate produce and dairy. You may or may not get "brand names" all items and item availability can vary to some degree but if you spend the time, you will always find awesome surprises to challenge your budget, BUT keep in mind the items in your cart are at a lower price then regular Grocery stores. Did I mention the already low price on wine is often 50% off. My shopping method typically is GROCERY OUTLET first then pick up the few items remaining on my list at a regular market.
