The only reason I am leaving a 1 star is because I can’t leave a negative rating. The lack of customer service and care that was given by the team working 1/13/2024 was beyond disappointing. I called the store to inquire about getting a chicken in the deli. I was told I would be transferred to the deli. After 4-5 minutes on hold, I hung up, and I called back to the main number. The young man who answered the phone said he would have them answer the phone. When they did, I thought it was some kind of joke because the young lady who answered the phone was rude, short, and very sarcastic. I asked if they had a chicken, she said, “no”. I asked if I could have her name, please. She said, “I don’t want to give you my name.” I asked for a manager. She said, “we have a chicken”. I told her I would be there in 5 - 10 minutes to get it. When I made my way into Valu Mart, the lady behind the counter wouldn’t stop cleaning her station to engage with me fully. I asked if I could have the chicken, and she said if we have any they would be in the warmer. There wasn’t a chicken. I let her know there wasn’t one. I asked if I could talk to the young lady that I spoke to on the phone just 10 minutes ago, this middle aged lady said, “that was me.” I knew it wasn’t, so I said the person I spoke to was a very young lady, may I speak to her? The lady went to get the other deli work, and she didn’t come out to speak to me. She said, “someone else must’ve gotten the chicken.” At this point, it was becoming clear that there wasn’t a chicken, and they were trying to breakdown the deli, clean it up, and get out of there before I arrived. It was right 7:00 PM. The lady asked if I would like to speak to a manager, I told her, yes, I would love that. When the manager arrived back to the deli area, and I started to tell him about how disappointed I was with my experience, his reply was, “the deli is closed”. With that reply, I asked for the store managers name, and I will follow up with him on Monday. Read moreI'm a bit frustrated with this store. I have been shopping here for 8 years because yes they do have the best meat here. Things however have gone downhill . The produ e section for one is horrid , old products and the fruit is awful looking. My biggest concern is everytime I go here I have to come right back because I have purchased so many out of dates. I started checking the dates while shopping after I had to do a few returns and so many items are out of date at this store. I'm not talking 2025 , alot of stuff I want to buy have dates from 2024. Are you not checking your product dates? Are they stocking new in front of old. Someone needs to get on this because I'm prob done shopping here. I see all kinds of people putting up the truck do you not look at dates? When you make someone sick maybe an elderly person because they prob dont check dates as much as someone else would. Read moreI find this grocery store to be very intriguing. The store has a very dim lighting that gives a very odd feeling when you walk in, lighting gets in such a way where you immediately think that there must be a light out but they all seem to be working. The colors of the floor and the walls are an off-white that makes it feel a bit dirty. Prices on the other hand are also intriguing. Some items are significantly cheaper than competition but others are shockingly more expensive. I feel like the most peculiar thing of all is that it's right across the street from a far more consistent grocery store. I should also mention there's a pharmacy but I never see a line over there and on the off chance I walk in there's no one waiting in line.
