Back in the day (early to mid 90's) Aldi was THE place to go for very affordable groceries. I'm just going to chalk it up to times have changed and Aldi has moved away from the model they used in those days. It's not nearly as affirdable as it once was...again, Everything has gotten way more expensive everywhere especially since Russia invaded Ukraine last week. Anyway, Today I bought three loaves of the cheap loven fresh bread (.97) each, two packs of the gluten free wraps, 8 of the gluten free bagels, two of the cauliflower crust pizzas and one of the chicken cutlets packs they had on sale. $45 bucks. O i forgot also a box of the variety pack chips. I'm not seeing much of a price difference between Aldi, Leidl, Redners, Weis, or Giant anymore. Weavers grocery on 272 has them all beat when they have their chicken breast and thigh sales but thats about it. There isn't much of a signifigant gap between these competitors anymore. There's ample parking and handicap spots right near the door.
The checkout lines move fast even when people have a ton of items in their cart
Also, they don't do free bags ( paper bags or plastic bags). Sometimes they will have empty boxes from stocking the shelves available that people can use. They also have reusable bags for sale. Most people...
Read moreAlways had a good experience until today. I went to the Aldi on 5th Street Highway. I manage properties and two tenants saw that there was a sale on chicken tenders. These people are elderly. I said I would be passing that way and offered to pick it up for them. I had different forms of payment. I took 2 of each item and brought it to the register and the short gray haired cashier said I could not do that. I had a separate card for each order. She refused and when I asked the manager he said they only received a case and could not sell it to me. I think that's just awful. People who are unable to get out shouldn't be penalized just because they are elderly. If you do not have enough then you shouldn't advertise it in the circular. Poor...
