My intellectually disabled daughter and I came in to purchase her a laptop. The elderly overworked lady at the cash register tried to help us as best she could but told us that the tech guy, I believe his name was Richard, would be in soon. When Richard came over he asked us what kind of computer we needed, my daughter explained what she wanted to use the computer for. Richard then went into a long-winded technological gobbledygook filled rant of how cool he was and how much he knew about computers. (Who cares?) The part I liked best was when he told us how all the Intel processors on the laptops at Staples are no good because of pending class action lawsuits against that company and that we should take our money to Best Buy or Costco and buy a laptop with a different processor. We did just that. After 4 hours of calming my daughter down from the incident, we spent our $1,700 at Best Buy. Even in this economy, customer service is still job number one. Because at the end of the day, you don't keep your lights on unless the customer feels good enough to reach into their pocket and give you their...
Read moreTried calling to ask for availability of a product that I found on the website. Not only did the not have any knowledge of the product (which normally wouldn't be a big deal), when I explained what the product was and asked to search for availability I was cut-off 2 seconds after I started to say the product name and the employee harshly stated "yeah we dont have that". Another remark that was made "if you're asking for external hard drives I have those, but I've never heard of what you are asking so no". Terrible customer service and normally I am very impressed with this Staples as we use it for to buy products for my work often. Instead of just stating you have "no idea" or "no clue" ask for further explanation not just shut the customer down, were they never taught customer service skills or basic...

She took the new one to have things transferred over they could not do it. So instead of calling her and letting her know they made a new email and password. They also keep her old computer with files on it said it was no good. First they should have called her and had her set up a email and password but they didnt. How do i know that info has not been given to others. I will not have her go there for anything again. Best buy geek squad doesnt handle the procedure this way. Been there befire with them. Shame on your computer team. And i hope my mom doesnt have...
