I have been going to Domo for over a decade. Friends would come to town and weâd always go to this hidden gem! The Old Domo was a 5 Star Place. My children loved the Hibatchi and would eat the veggies prepared in such a fun way. I am heartbroken by the new location. The pricing is hard for a family of 4 let alone larger and the quality is not what we have come to love. Even with no longer getting the âshowâ. The food is now all separately priced. The miso soup and salad come separately. The salad is $7 and is a large entree size. It would have been nice to get a side salad for cheaper. The food no longer tastes cooked to order, and because of being cooked in a larger portion lacks flavor. It needs 3x the teriyaki used. It came out faster than a McDonalds order of fries which tells you itâs not cooked to order; and was only warm not HOT. There is no veggies in the chicken either like there used to be. Me eating lower carb I used to get extra veggies and would skip the noodles and rice. They also charge $1 for extra Domo (yum yum sauce). Itâs in a very small container. When you dined in at the old location they would give you Unlimited sauce just as a steakhouse would provide ketchup or A1. I also miss their Ginger Sauce and preferred that with my proteins. The childrenâs portion used to be $8 including sides, salad,& soup.. but there is no longer a childrenâs menu. The sushi was also not as good (salmon wasnât very fresh tasting) as it used to be. Just over all disappointed. The noodles and rice seemed to be the most like they used to be. I know change is hard but this is not the Domo that won the hearts of Muncie. It no longer feels authentic or like Domo at all. It feels like youâre eating out of to go containers at a Panda Express. For the total experience we are going to have to do something we never wanted to do and that is go across the street to Fuji for the total experience at a better price. For about $50 at Fuji you spend about $75-80 now at Domo. Sincerely Heartbroken and hope it starts changing...
Read moreI was in your restaurant this past Saturday. We were celebrating my son's birthday, who is a student at Ball State University. We have been to your restaurant many times since he started there as a student. While we were at your restaurant I ordered sushi, as I have every time that I have been there. This time, the sushi was bad. I sent it back. I watched the waiter arguing with the chef. The waiter brought the sushi back to my table telling me that the chef said that there wasn't anything wrong with it. I said, I'm sorry, but it is bad, and I am not going to eat it. The next thing I know, the chef is at my table telling me very rudely that I didn't know what I was talking about. He continued to berate me in front of my party. I simply told him I was not going to eat it. This is not the level of service I am used to receiving at your restaurant. I brought a party of nine, and I was embarrassed. What happened to the customer is always right? This is posted as Lindsay Kusley, this is really for...
Read moreIf I had the opportunity to leave no stars I definitely would. This place is overpriced and subpar to be even classified in the domain of Japanese food. The whole meal started out awful with an overdressed salad covered in the most bitter ginder (if that was even it) dressing I have ever tasted. Then we ordered the sea food udon for our dinner. The broth of this udon tasted like pure aquarium water as if this udon was made with the water from the fish tank in the dining room. Not to mention that the sea food and the noodles were flavorless with not even an ounce of salt. Upon telling our waitress our disinterest in the meal, we are told that the 'aquarium' udon will remain on our bill even if we are to choose something else. We only ate one bite out if the bowl and the bowl was still hot indicating we just got it. In short don't come here unless you are hungry for water because that was the most appetizing part of the meal. And they cheat you out...
