The first time I went into this location, I was escorted to different sofas by Sheila. I felt very uncomfortable so much so that I told my husband I'd rather go to the Franklin location because I can browse at my leisure without a handler. He didn't want to make that drive since we knew which sofa we wanted to buy; so we went back (against better judgement). Ordered sofa and a chair (did not intend to purchase chair because unsure of how it'd look in our home), and was told it'd take 4-6 weeks to make. Not even a week later, attempted to change fabric on chair and was told too far in system to modify-not that the chair was being made just too far in system to bring back for changes. Sheila asked why change & I told her that it will not fit decor-the look trying to achieve. She tries to convince me that it is a great choice & will look good as if I value her opinion. She has not been in nor seen my home yet has an opinion of how good it will look. Expensive chair that I am stuck with is what I have, and Corporate office can't help because this is an individually owned store. SMH and truly disappointed in sales people. Have they forgotten word of mouth, referrals, and happy customers=repeat customers are what keeps them in business?!? Oh well, I guess I finish furnishing the rest of my house at Haverty, Sprintz, or better yet save money and shop across the street from them at Rooms to Go.
Update: On 1/29/2019, the manager, Jay, called to change the fabric on my chair. So, customer service is alive and well, and I am glad he reached out to help make situation better. Looking forward to getting my furniture.
Update: On 3/15/2019, my La-Z-Boy furniture was delivered. About a week before delivery, we learned that our sofa was not finished because pillow fabric is on back order, but there was one in the warehouse just like it except pillows are different. I get to keep the solid gray pillows for the inconvenience while we wait for yellow pillows to be made and shipped. So we were expecting that. We were not expecting the chairs' legs to be a different color. The chair doesn't match sofa (our choice); however, we were able to customize. We chose same fabric and leg finish for both. As you can see, matching fabric but sofa legs are coffee color and chair legs are reddish brown. Delivery guys said when they get the correct legs, they will swap them out (even wrote it on the invoice). La-Z-Boy is a quality brand (furniture, customer service, attention to detail, etc.). Unfortunately, this store does not represent the quality I associate with La-Z-Boy. Maybe someday they will, but until then, I will shop online and/or Franklin location. I am not all negative...Delivery guys were courteous! The couch and chair were beautifully made and...
Read moreHorrible, demeaning, and dismissive sales people who basically committed retail fraud and refused to price match with us despite their offer to do so and with our other offer in writing from the other company. You see, the only way you can get the lifetime limited warranty on Lay z boy furniture is to buy it from a corp. store. You can, however, buy the same exact furniture much cheaper at local furniture stores licensed to sell the brand. We tried today to purchase a recliner from the Murfreesboro store after having been to a local store 20 miles away who sells the brand. The chair in Shelbyville was $1900 but the offer was just above $1600 out the door. We had them give us the quote in writing on their stationary and took that to the Murfreesboro store after being told in person - by the same sales person who sold us the other chair - that not only would they price match, but would do a little better than the price match. On our visit today, our sales person was not working so we were forced to deal with another employee. That employee him-hawed around for forty minutes trying to figure out how to price match only to return saying that they would not price match with us because the Shelbyville price was too low. The problem was not that they didn't believe it was a legit offer, which it absolutely was, but just that there was too large a gap between the two offers. Their advertising does not have any fine print disclaimers that inform you that they reserve to right to lie or commit retail price fraud. We wasted an entire day and a great deal of stress hormones trying to negotiate with a woman who took etiquette courses from a North Korean prison camp. We were made to feel like we were too poor to shop in her store because we were trying to get the absolute best deal possible. A deal, that they advertise as policy. If you absolutely have to buy a lay z boy, drive to the Franklin store or a Nashville location. The sales people in Murfreesboro need to be fired and replaced a few times before I would contemplate the suggestion that anyone put themselves through...
Read moreI spent over $6000 on a sectional sofa at La Z Boy towards the first of this year. Upon its delivery a couple of months ago, it was obviously defective. We took pictures immediately to the purchase store and showed the staff. They too agreed it was defective, and scheduled a service call. The technician came out and stated it cannot be fixed. It was a design flaw. I recontacted La Z Boy and requested a reselect, not a refund. They refused and said they could only turn it over to the service department for their evaluation after a âteamâ discussed the best option for me. The same tech came out and brought newer clamps. He took photos with and without the new clamps, stating it will not change anything because of the design flaw. He agreed and stated in a recorded conversation that it was not fixable and said he would report that to the one in charge of my case. After not hearing anything, I contacted them via email. He responded and said they had decided to a send me. New back to the sofa section. Per the technician, the flaw is in the base on the section which causes the back to not close. PLEASE DONâT SPEND YOUR hard earned money at La Z BOY! I wasted $6000 for them to tell me even though itâs a design flaw, we are going to give you another piece that is the same design, then decide at that point, again. It took six months for my furniture to be delivered. I knew that on the front end, but now, after these delays, I donât see an end in sight. We donât use any part of it so they canât say ânow it has wear and tearâ. Again, this was asking for a reselect so they could still have a...
