I'll start with a summary from my dining companion tonight: "it's great if you are looking for a night of fried, salty, and creamy." My friend and I checked out Rock n' Roll Sushi Murfreesboro tonight, and we had fun. The space is super fun; it was nice to be reminded of music videos! Remember those? The menus were cool in their record sleeves. The guitars on the wall and the giant wall playing music videos were beautifully nostalgic. Our server was very kind. She seemed knowledgeable about the menu and even gave us her top 3 favorite rolls. She did a great job of pointing out each section without dwelling too long on them. Our waters stayed filled and our table cleared at appropriate times. We started with the appetizer sampler (come on, it's my buffet lady friend 🖤). The best part on that plate is the shrimp. They're a perfectly crispy few bites. My second favorite was the jalapeno popper, which was good but not as spicy as I had hoped. The crispy wontons were good but not as flavorful as I had hoped. The egg roll was the least favorite; it felt like simply a fried holder for the sauces. Note everything on this plate was fried 🤣 We then ordered 4 rolls: The Crowd Surfer, Legends, Prima Donna, and Punk Rock. We also ordered 2 hibachi vegetable sides because we're healthy like that lol. The hibachi vegetables were excellent, though a bit saltier than I would normally make them. As for the rolls, The Crowd Surfer was good, but better with the jalapeno slice and wasabi. The Legends was unexpected. The salad on top was great. The roll was great. They were not great together! The salad overpowers the delicate soft shell crab. The Prima Donna was a great palate cleanser compared to the rest. The weird star was the Punk Rock Roll. We both mentioned needing to up our salad games with strawberry, jalapeno, avocado, and cucumber... Together. For me, the Punk Rock with an extra hit of wasabi was best. We couldn't finish all the sushi... Not because we can't eat a lot. Just to bring it full circle: everything was so salty! It was just a lot of fried and salty going on, so we ended it with some cheese cake to counteract it. 2 spoons and both dips (chocolate and caramel) on the side. In all, it was good... But the kind of good that goes in the hotel district. It's not great, it's not bad; it's good for the average human. And the average human, we've found, loves fried, salty, and creamy. And that's great if that's what you dig. As for us, we didn't really feel the need to say we'd be back. Look! There's so much good food in this town, and if this is your jam, EXCELLENT! It's great to have so much variety. And definitely tip your servers well, esp if they're knowledgeable, attentive, and kind...

We wanted local and just quick for sushi. I saw some good reviews and pictures of the food looked great. We did have a big table but it wasn’t as bad since it wasn’t busy when we got there. This was a confusing experience though. We were told they have don’t have it and then they do have it. So my husband and I were confused of what we could eat and drink since it was limited. First, we were told we have water, then 2nd time we’re told they have water, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and the 3rd time they didn’t bring us our drinks that we’ve already waited for 10 minutes for. She told us last minute that they have fountain drinks again. So as confusing as it was we had to wait an extra 5 minutes for our drinks. We brought our kids and of course when order appetizer we order the kids foods first. Apparently they forgot one of our kid’s food and everything was cold. Even instant ramen is better bc it’s quick and hot. This ramen was quick and cold. But it taste good. We had to reorder one of my kid’s food and I still haven’t received my appetizer. I didn’t get my appetizer until after my entree. What was even more confusing is how they let you order without letting you know that there stuff in the menu that is out of stock. I mean I would be fine for substitutions like if you’re out of potstickers and you’re willing to replace the potstickers for something else on menu appetizers that’s fine. But I ordered it and when I received it, I was like “didn’t this come with like wonton chips?” Apparently they ran out. So overall food was good, a lot of crawfish incorporated with their sushi. Not bad but kind of excessive. Sashimi was amazing for the amount of pieces and thickness of the cut. Ramen was cold. I forgot what appetizer I ordered only because I received it after we were already done eating. Thankfully they took it back without charging us. This whole experience was disappointing. Service definitely could have been better. Very annoyed and may...

Once arriving we were told to sit wherever and took a while for our server to greet us even when there were only a few people in the restaurant… we asked for waters and fried rice but had to remind her about the waters over 10 min later once she brought the fried rice. After another 15 minutes she comes to take our order… which ended up coming out with an ingredient i’m allergic to and kindly asked our server to remake it because of the situation which she agreeed to. once the second order came out it was completely wrong & the rice on the sushi looked extremely over cooked at that. After she came to check about the new order we told her it was completely wrong and would just like the check. she brought the check and charged us for both orders when i’d not eaten a single bite of either. We asked for them to be removed from our total and our server went to get the manager, who came back to us and asked what the issue was and we explained … she then told us we would have to pay for the server’s mistaken order of california rolls after we didn’t even order that in the first place and then said “umm” and walked off. our server came back and with a to go box for the wrong orders and graciously told us we could keep the plastic water cups we had to previously reminded her about before. She also brought an updated receipt for our meal with my original order off but the california roll i hadn’t touched still remaining and at this point all i wanted to do was leave. the staff did not make us feel welcomed, werent attentive, and didn’t attempt to accommodate us. Definitely will not be returning to...

This is one of my new favorite places to eat great food and enjoy a fun time in a awesome rock themed environment! I ordered four different types of sushi that were very delicious very tasty and served up fresh! Although I arrive a little bit late in the evening, the staff was extremely accommodating, very friendly and made me feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The staff made some great recommendations and service was fast and served with a smile! The restaurant was very clean, well lighted for a casual fun, yet still intimate feeling. Even the washroom / bathroom was exceptionally clean and and smelled fresh! I was also fortunate to to talk to the general manager. He was super friendly and really made sure that all of the patrons were very well taken care of! Having a personal touch and just checking with a customers and making sure they were happy with the meal, the service, and the speed of service was truly outstanding! If you have not had a chance to visit this pearl, definitely take some time and enjoy it with some friends or family and especially if you love rock music this place is a real blast! Keep up the amazing work! I look forward to visit in this place again when I am in Tennessee!

Tried Rock N Roll Sushi for the first time yesterday and unfortunately was not impressed. First off, I will say the ambience of the place is pretty cool. They really do have it decorated with a rock and roll theme which is nice. The music was just a tad bit too loud for my liking but that’s just personal preference. The service was ok. Our waitress was attentive during our visit. Her vibe was just a bit off though, kind of awkward but it didn’t really bother me. The reason for the one star is the food. My husband and I both love crab Rangoon, we always get it when we see it on a menu. Unfortunately theirs is mostly the breading and barely any filling. There’s only a tiny bit at the center of the wonton. I ordered their volcano roll and honestly it may be one of the worst sushi rolls I’ve ever tried. The temperature was very off-putting, it was like a weird Luke warm. Usually I’m used to rolls either being cold or hot if they’re deep fried. The menu says the roll is fried but I guess they just mean the topping is fried and it’s not the whole roll deep fried. I don’t think anyone in my party really enjoyed their meals either. We all basically agreed we would not be back.
