This place came to me highly recommended, but unfortunately that was not my experience. I wanted to get a blonde balayage to my already light hair; the stylist, I, and instructor all decided on a color for the balayage & also agreed upon doing a root smudge for easy grow out. However, not too long in I found that the stylist was distracted and I was concerned about the time my hair was under bleach. After about 2 hours of foils, and a half hour under bleach (which is way too long!) she took me to the bowl and rinsed me out. The instructor came over and realized the stylist had left out some spots and as a last ditch effort threw some bleach on my hair while the stylist was toning the bottom of my hair. Long story short, due to the distraction of the stylist and busyness of the instructor, my hair came out in 4 different colors (blonde from the bleach, auburn from the last ditch effort, brown from the original, and purple from toner). I was not given my root smudge, and the result was no where near what I wanted. They charged me $80 for this. Botching my hair made me miss an important event that day, but what makes me the most mad is that I reached out to the instructor on instagram asking politely to seek options for fixing what they had done (see pics below), but received no answer and was ignored. Luckily today I got it fixed, but I’m just disappointed in a place that came to me in such high standings let me down this badly.

I went in for a consultation with year old box black dye, hoping to go blond, but fully prepared to be told that they couldn’t do it. Instead, I was told that they would be able to do a full platinum card. When I came back for my appointment, though, they backtracked and told me the best they could do was highlights and I would just have to keep coming back to go lighter and lighter. The teacher assigned two girls to me, neither of whom had ever even worked with bleach before. The whole process took four hours. When they were finally blow drying me, they did not check off their work with a teacher and rather rushed me out of the building. I only noticed how patchy it was when I got home, and only realized the extent when I went to a licensed professional for a consultation, who was horrified. I did eventually get the blond I wanted, but the whole process took over six hundred dollars due to how complicated the project was—and it would have been another three hundred if the stylists didn’t take pity on me and agree to do it at a discounted price. I would have been more than happy if at any point someone at the school had simply told me no, and the fact that the student seemed to be hiding this from their teacher is unacceptable. This seems like an isolated incident and the fault of those two students rather than an institutional problem, but it was still ridiculous.

Ok......I'm not quite sure how to rate this?? I went in for a trim and hair dye. Both were good jobs, except for one major thing. The main reason I'm so unhappy is I asked for purple hair. I showed my hair stylist an inspo photo and even picked the hair color out with her on a sheet with lots of different colors. It DEFINITELY isn't purple. It is very very blue. Which, don't get me wrong I had blue hair two years ago, I like blue hair. I'm upset because I went blonde back in December to be prepared to be a vibrant purple this summer. (I work in a school and can't have bright hair colors) Today I planned on coming home with purple hair and instead walked out with blue. I know everyone has to start somewhere, I'm just frustrated that somewhere in the process it would've been noticed by the hair stylist or one of the teachers who signed off on the hair color, that it was in fact, not purple dye that was being put on my hair. When I saw the color on my scalp I just figured it needed more time to process or that blue and red make purple, so maybe it was just showing up blue on my scalp. I'm giving 3 stars because the hair stylist was nice, the trim was good and my hair did get colored, but it wasn't what I wanted at all.

I would never go back. I went to this school to save some money as my usual hair-dresser is more expensive. They made me sign a disclaimer that if the student makes a mistake, they will fix it. With that assurance I allowed them to put their hands on my hair. I have had my hair highlighted for the past 20 years, so I memorized the type of products and level of toner needed to make my original color become of an off-white-blonde color. To be fair, at the time I made my appointment my hair was highlighted and had a bit of growth with some grey hair. So I communicated to them what to do with my hair and set up an appointment for a Wedsneday afternoon. I get there on Wednesday only to find out that they cannot do my hair because it will take 4-5 hours to fully highlight it. In my lifetime 2-3 hours is all the time needed to need my short hair (they are right below my ear) but they mentioned that the students are slow and ensured me that the student assigned to my hair was the best at highlighting. I go back on Saturday to get my hair done and after 8 painful hours on the chair, surprise my hair is brown and not just the growth, the whole length!!! One thing I noticed is that in 6 hours of highlighting, I did not feel the burning sensation of the highlighting mixture on my scalp, which was weird. This is my problem. Throughout the time I was there the instructors and manager were giving constant input to the student and checking her work, so I know the mix used for my toner was not the student's fault but the manager's! I complained and they gave me a second appointment the following week. This time the manager herself came off even stronger with the instructions and checks. After 3 hours my hair was all red!!! I complained again, and she asked me if I wanted to go back but she was sure it was my hair's fault not her fault. Then she said something that is on customer service manuals "at least they are not brown anymore, we made them lighter" Really, girl? Anyway, I asked their director by email for a refund and never heard back. I would stay away from such a disorganized place which has 20 year olds as managers and a phantom director who does not take accountability for their actions. I am still waiting...

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a facial treatment with Abril R., and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From the moment I met her, Abril exuded a warmt and genuine passion for her work that immediately put me at ease.

Abril's extensive knowledge and expertise in skincare were evident throughout the entire process. She took the time to thoroughly explain each step of the facial, ensuring I understood what she was doing and why. Her confidence and professionalism were truly reassuring.

One of the highlights of the treatment was when Abril used a woods lamp to analyze my skin. She took the time to point out various areas of concern, explaining the different types of blemishes and how they were related to sun damage. This educational component was invaluable in helping me understand my skin on a deeper level.

Abril also provided personalized recommendations for a skincare routine for my specific skin type and concerns. Her passion for skincare was inspiring , and I left feeling motivated to take better care of my skin.

The day after the facial, Abril checked in with me to let me know that my skin may go through a purging process. Sure enough, I noticed my skin starting to clear up significantly in the following days. My complexion has never looked healthier or more radiant. I feel so confident in my skin now that I've hardly been wearing makeup at all.

Abril's emphasis on the importance of sunscreen also really stuck with me. She took the time to recommend some products and explain how to properly incorporate them into my daily routine.

Overall, I am thrilled with the results of my facial with Abril. Her exceptional skill, combined with her passion and dedication to her clients, make her truly stand out in her field. I feel so fortunate to have found her and cannot wait to continue my skincare journey under her guidance.

Thank you, Abril, for helping me achieve the healthiest, happiest skin of my life. You...

Extremely disappointing experience – unacceptable service and lack of supervision.

I try to be very generous and patient with the students at Cameo College, knowing they are still learning. However, my most recent experience was beyond unacceptable, both in terms of professionalism and basic care. I asked for lighter highlights and left with my hair completely dyed black — a huge mistake — but unfortunately, that was just the beginning.

Here’s what happened during my appointment with the student, Izzy:

My hair was dyed entirely black, completely opposite of what I requested (lighter highlights). They repeatedly yanked my hair, making the process painful and uncomfortable. They parted my hair so harshly that it physically hurt. They almost poked/stabbed my face multiple times with the comb — showing very poor control and awareness. They ignored input and guidance from more experienced coworkers. They did not shampoo my hair after applying color. They failed to rinse out all the dye, leaving product in my hair. I had hair dye all over my face, neck, arms, and back. My clothing was soaked during the rinse — no protection was used. They did not towel-dry my hair or offer any care post-wash. Overall, they showed a clear lack of knowledge, professionalism, and care. What made this worse was the complete lack of effective supervision. A supervising instructor should have checked in frequently, especially when it was obvious things were going wrong. They did not, and the few times they did, they offered minimal correction and allowed poor practices to continue.

This was not a minor training mistake — it was a painful, messy, and deeply disappointing experience. If students are allowed to work on real clients, they need to be better trained and closely supervised for everyone’s safety and dignity.

I will not be returning.

Do...
