Modern Display — Local services in Murray

I wish I could give this a 5 star rating cause I've been to this store a few times and have never had a problem until today. I have bought lights and light clips from here and honestly wouldn't buy lights anywhere else after buying them from here, but the customer service I experienced today was frustrating. A floor worker named Shane asked if I needed help I said yes and i asked about the light clips they have this year compared to last year cause I noticed there was a difference from what I bought last year, so he says "nope no difference". I say "really? Cause they aren't the same clip I bought last year" and then I say "do you know if they work the same as the ones sold last year?" By this time he has attitude with me for no reason and hes dismissive. He continues to say they are the same as we're walking over to look at them, I say they're not and then he says well it's the same box and maker. I could tell it was the same maker but not the same clip. Not having the same clip isnt the point though, it's the attitude and dismissive tone and remarks and I dont care attitude towards me that makes me irritated. I treat everyone with respect until they give me a reason not to and no lie towards the end of our conversation I gave the same tone he was giving me. A decade ago, I purchased a pre-lit, artificial Christmas tree from Modern Display. That tree is as beautiful today as it was the day I bought it. So when my sister mentioned that she was shopping for a tree to fit the space available in her new apartment, I was quick to suggest she check out Modern Display and offered to tag along.

The moment you walk through the door, you realize you're in for a magical experience. No matter how you envision your perfect Christmas decor, from classic to modern, rustic to whimsical, they've got it covered. Walking through the main floor is truly a feast for the eyes. You could literally spend hours exploring the various displays, and you always find more beautiful, unique items than you can possibly take home. A wide set of steps on the south side of the main floor take you to the lower level where the undecorated trees are displayed. The variety of styles and sizes is amazing. My sister, of course, was able to find her perfect tree.

Modern Display is the place for home decor and seasonal decorations! It's been around forever (or something like that), and recently moved to a former big box store allowing the staff to spread their wings a bit. Now, I'm not sure how much more space the new location gives them in the end, but it surely makes everything more available and accessible (no stairs to navigate for instance). My only point of disappointment these days is that their Department56 collection feels a bit lacking. This could be a reflection of Department56's own struggles, but what's on-hand is a bit underwhelming currently. Never fear though, because Modern Display has everything else you could ever need – from outdoor and indoor lights, to ornaments and Christmas trees, to odd gifts and goodies for friends and family year-round.
