DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! PLEASE READ! I would give this ZERO stars if I could. I bought my ring back in 2012 and have ran into TOO MANY problems. When I first bought my ring I was so excited, but as time has passed I rarely wear my ring due to the anxiety I get from wearing it. At Jared's they require you to bring in your ring for an inspection and cleaning every six months. After my first cleaning and inspection, one of my side diamonds fell out within a week of normal wear. I was able to get it replaced. Six months later, I went in for another inspection and cleaning again, within a week another side diamond fell out...again I was able to get that replaced. As time passed I had another side diamond fell out and I missed my six month inspection and cleaning and had to pay for the diamond to be replaced. Fast forward to 2016 with the inspections, the jeweler who worked on my ring was so careless that they clamped my ring so tight that it damaged my bridge and did not tell me. I noticed it after normal wear weeks later. When I took it in, they said they would try and "fix" it and after attempting to, they ended up BREAKING my entire ring. They had to order me another ring. At that time I also asked about why diamonds would constantly fall out of my ring and they had no answer and told me in the future I should request either the jeweler or salesman to double check my diamonds. Clearly they do NOT have a final quality inspection before the ring leaves the shop because if they DID then they would have noticed it was completely damaged! And IF they DO have a final quality check, then CLEARLY their "quality standards" are VERY low! 2019-- I went in for my inspection and was told my center stone was loose and they would remount it. I went in to pick up my ring and was told that the jeweler had chipped my diamond when they were remounting it..... The store manager told me they would have to send my ring and diamond to Ohio to be replaced with another diamond with same or better quality than my original one. That could take up to 3 months. I asked the store manager if there was anything they could do for me for because I have had the WORST experience and customer service in the past 7 years. She said they could not, due to her working as store manager since only Oct 2018. She stated that she was not there for my past experience there therefore she can not do anything for me and for the future, I should only deal with her so she can "take care of me". I asked her what happens when she's no longer there and I am back at square one. She said nothing and offered me $150 off on anything I spent over $300. Now why would I purchase anything from there again? She also blamed my princess cut diamond getting chipped by the prongs because they were completely wrong and should have not been used in the first place. After SEVEN years I now have a completely different ring. It may look the same, but NOTHING of it is original from when I first purchased my ring. All the sentimental value went out the window and they do not care! From my personal experience and frustrations I have gone else where to purchase my wedding band and husband's ring. I would recommend anyone looking a lifetime piece to AVOID this place and go to Shane Co. Those that I have referred to Shane Co have purchased lifetime pieces. This poor review is based on Jared as a whole. I purchased an engagement ring nearly 2 years ago and at first it was certainly great. As stated above sales person was the BEST!!
Their loan servicing company is absolute garbage! I have great credit, used less than 30% of what I was approved for and was still set at a ridiculous interest rate (above 25% APR). This completely blew my mind! I emailed them and asked them for an explanation and/or to reduce my interest rate. Their response was that the APR was based more on repetitive business and payment history than it was about credit scores. Who in their right mind would want to do more business with someone that’s charging them such an absurd interest rate from the beginning? And isn’t a credit score somewhat indicative of the individuals repayment history? Luckily I was in a position to pay off my account within 2 months, and emailed them again saying “I feel as though the high APR is insulting and disrespectful… I have no intentions of continuing business… I am not sure why the start of our relationship (me and Jared) was such a negative experience considering I will be getting married and with that typically comes more jewelry in the future. Jared it’s not me it’s you, I can’t be in an abusive relationship.” Their response was “Thanks for the payment”, so again their loan servicing company is absolute garbage!
Fast forward 2 years now, my wife and I are married. She absolutely loves the ring and continues to get complements. We have followed their inspection policy perfectly (every 6 months) and have had it cleaned professionally more frequently for special occasions. Somehow she cracked the bottom part of the band which requires repairs. On two different occasions we tried to drop it off and were told that they were backlogged and it would be at least a week, but if we waited and came by right when they open sometimes simple repairs get pushed through faster. Pretty wishy washy response if you ask me. Anyways she dropped it off first thing in the morning on a Wednesday and was initially told that it would take until the following Tuesday at 6pm to be finished. Considering it was dropped off within the first hour of the day, this means the repair would take an entire week! This location has on site jewelers, they do it in house, and so what takes so long? After spending thousands of dollars I would expect a simple repair to be done quickly, it’s not like they are messing with the prongs, setting or stones. My band, purchased elsewhere, is from a designer in Europe, they shipped my band to Europe to be resized and it was returned in less than week!
In a nut shell, the sales people were fantastic! Loan servicing company is lower than low, the absolute worst I have dealt with. Service department is super-duper slow! So my opinion is that once the sale is done, they don’t care about you period. If they did, they would have better finance for their customers and they would have an adequate amount of jewelers available to repair their products. Read moreWe purchased my engagement ring in 2013, my wedding band in 2015, and we decided to add more and create a custom piece this year for our tenth anniversary. The ring turned out PERFECT! We worked with Karen & Alden, who took excellent care of us in this most recent addition. We were never thrown unexpected fees or additional charges after the fact. They made sure we received discounts that were available at the time. The initial build and getting diamonds in took longer than I had hoped, but it was all worth it, and they always kept me in the loop by phone & text. I received photos of my ring at every step of the way. They waited until all pieces were ready, had me come in and make sure the ring was how I wanted the ring to look, BEFORE they put it all together. The first time it was put together, one of the sections looked uneven; it was not very noticeable to me in the photo, but I am not a jeweler, and the drive to the store is about 40 minutes. But, as soon as they got it, they reached out, sent pictures, and gave me the choice to send it back or take it as is. I trusted his judgement, and it was the right choice! I finally got my ring, and I needed it re-sized (my fault), then a week-ish later, a diamond fell out, and I was devastated. I had just gotten the piece back, and I was upset, won't lie. BUT one call and Karen and Alden made they made sure the diamond was replaced the day I came into the store. Came in, dropped it off, went to lunch, went back, and was good to go. Overall, everything for the entire ring was done as quickly as possible, completed correctly, as thoroughly as possible, and they always delivered sooner than we all expected. (Thank you to the jeweler.) If you haven't tried Jared, do it! The warranty is worth every penny! The staff is patient and supportive without making you feel pressured to spend more than you are willing, but they will find you exactly what you want, in your price range, and if it is not in the store, they will bring it in to the store without extra cost. They made my custom ring exactly how my Husband and I imagined it, and I am so thrilled. And it is comforting to know that if anything happens, they are one call away, and two visits a year will keep my ring in pristine condition and take care of. I worked with Karen and Alden, and I am so thankful for everything they have done and do to ensure I leave with and will continue to have care for what I had in mind and get to enjoy daily.
